Kapitel 2: 02 – Chakra

"So, from here, we know that chakra is a combination of both, our physical energy and spiritual energy. With the help of chakra, we can use several different kinds of ninjutsu or use it for other applications." An old man taught a class of very young students.

Looking at the colour of the hair of the old man and the children, it was clear that they all hailed from the Uzumaki clan.

"Teacher, what can be other uses of chakra then?" A young child raised his hand and asked.

"Hmm, for many things. Like, we can make seals with it. That is what our clan is famous for around here. Now, we'll talk about the countries and the five great ninja villages…"

The teacher's voice flowed like a gentle stream as he imparted his knowledge to the young, eager minds of the Uzumaki clan. His lessons were filled with vivid descriptions of the world.

Yet, unbeknownst to the teacher, Kazuha hid among the trees, blending seamlessly into the shadows. Despite his keen senses as a chuunin, he was unable to detect him. This provided a testament to the statement of being the world's best assassin.

As the teacher continued to teach, Kazuha watched and listened, soaking in every word with a quiet intensity.

After a while of listening, observing and information-gathering, Kazuha left the cover of the trees and went back to the area near his house.

Although he had now gathered a lot of information about this new world, there were still some minor details left. Moreover, this energy called 'chakra' piqued his interest.

He knew that he had to get strong again and kill again in this world. The world of ninjas was that of a cruel one. Affairs from inside the Uzumaki clan might seem peaceful but, outside, there are wars all the time.

Wars were the sources and roots of mass destruction and hatred. People died at every point and, to protect his family, he had to get strong.

'Well, loving them can be done only if they are alive.' Kazuha said in his mind while walking through the streets of the clan leisurely.

All this while, Kazuha's eyes were moving from one place to another, glancing at everything around him, trying to find something that might help him know more about this world or chakra.

While throwing his glances everywhere, Kazuha noticed a bookstore a few steps ahead of him.

Kazuha walked into the bookstore quickly and was greeted by the shop owner the first thing after entering.

"Welcome, young lord. What brings you to my small bookshop?" The owner asked while politely bowing to Kazuha.

"I'll browse through and let you know if I need anything." Kazuha ignored the shopkeeper, not sparing him even a glance and started browsing through the books lying in the store.

Kazuha scanned the titles of countless books while ignoring those lying in the adult section.

Time slipped away as he was lost in thought, weighing the merits of each potential selection. Two hours passed before Kazuha finally made his selection, plucking a book from the shelf with a sense of satisfaction.

'Introduction to chakra'

With no further delay, Kazuha paid for the book and left quickly before the owner convinced him to buy more.

Kazuha clutched the book to his chest as a sense of excitement coursed through his veins while walking towards the dense forests near the Uzumaki clan's mainland.

"Let's start," Kazuha murmured to himself as he settled onto the soft grass, the book lying gently in his soft white hands. He crossed his legs and adjusted his posture, taking a deep breath to calm himself.

As Kazuha turned the pages of the book and consumed the information printed on them about chakra.

'To start using chakra, I need to have chakra. Obvious part but, in order to start using chakra, I first need someone to inject some chakra into me…

Chakra is everywhere in this world, isn't it? So, rather than having someone else inject chakra into my body, polluting me with their chakra, I could just…'

Kazuha thought while turning through the pages frantically and using his brain to cook out some crazy ideas.

With some planning, he confirmed a few things and finalized a plan. Every person was born with some quantity of chakra already and being from the Uzumaki clan, Kazuha had a lot more chakra already than the others.

In order to activate his chakra, he would not ask for anyone's help, but he would use the chakra available freely in nature, keeping his body pure.

He would become one with nature by sitting in a place full of things of nature and meditating. When that happens, chakra would by itself enters his body, enabling him to use it freely after that.

Kazuha suddenly stood up and punched the tree behind him while trying his best not to injure himself. His punch had no effect on the tree.

'Let's begin again…'

Kazuha put both his hands on his knees as he sat down again and crossed his legs. He joined the tips of his index finger and thumbs of both hands with each other and closed his eyes.

'The book said that when chakra enters the body, I'll feel it myself. If chakra is everywhere in nature, hah, whatever…'

Kazuha said in his mind and then surrendered his whole body to nature while trying to sense chakra in the air around him but he felt nothing at first.

All he felt was a cool spring breeze hit his face and the sound of the raging water flow of the river nearby hit his ears.

The herbal smell of plants entered his nose. Kazuha felt himself calming down more than he ever had been.

Kazuha then started meditating, something that he used in his last life to always keep himself in control.

As hours went by, the warmth of the sun waned, its fading glow casting a soft golden light over the forest. As the sky shifted from blue to pink and finally to a deep shade of indigo, the chill of the evening began to set in, and the first set of twinkling stars appeared in the sky.

The once vibrant canopy of leaves above Kazuha's head now appeared dark and mysterious, a stark contrast to the warm and welcoming glow of the sun that had previously filled the forest.

For all these past hours, Kazuha had not moved an inch.

The only difference now was that before he was sitting alone but now, there was a bird on his head and a few snails and slugs around him.

Surprisingly, the snakes did not attack the bird and the bird did not try to eat the slugs. They all sat around Kazuha in peace.

As a few more snakes were arriving, Kazuha suddenly opened his eyes and moved his hands, making all the animals around run away.

"Hah…That was hard… Do I finally have chakra now though?" Kazuha asked himself as he stood up and removed the soil that was stuck on his clothes.

"I remember, the book said that after gaining chakra, your body's physique improves…"

Kazuha looked at the tree he had punched before meditation and punched it again. This time, he did not hold back and used all of his strength.

There was a large depression, marking his punch on the tree but the tree still stood completely fine.

At this time, while his hand was still stuck in the tree, his stomach grumbled loudly.

"I need to do this sometimes again…" Kazuha said and left the forest with the book he brought today.

Kazuha left but did not notice a minute detail due to the dark, there was a large crack extending up vertically on the tree from the spot where he punched at.

.

.

As Kazuha stumbled towards his home, he was surprised to see the outline of his parents waiting for him outside. His mother and father stood together on the front steps, their faces creased with concern as they watched him approach.

"Kazuha, where have you been?" his mother asked, her voice tinged with worry. "We've been waiting for you for hours. You just got up from the accident a few days ago too."

"O-Oh…I'm sorry. I didn't realize" Kazuha apologized like a programmed machine to his mother.

"Just…don't be late like this without informing first. Come in and eat some food." Miyazu said as she held Kazuha's hand and looked at his face with wet eyes. She was happy to see her son in good health today.

Kazuha walked inside the house with his mother but his father continued standing outside, staring at Kazuha's back with suspicious narrow eyes.

"He…did not have this chakra till yesterday though," Yamato mumbled as his eyes narrowed a little more and his head tilted to the left direction.

Being the Uzumaki clan's leader and also their best warrior, he could easily detect the meagre amount of new chakra in Kazuha's body and moreover, the slight difference in his actions was also clear to him. As his father, he saw Kazuha every day.

For now, Yamato ignored these changes and went into the house, to sit with his family and eat dinner with them but, he had an eye up on Kazuha from now on.
