[Chapter 30: A quick year]
"A lot," said Thor with a grave voice before telling him everything that had happened.
"Wow," commented Loki with surprise. He never thought Frigga and Odin would have a fight. 'Well damn, shit has gone wild. Though I can't say that Odin didn't' deserve it.
—(Line Break)—
Loki stepped into the room, his presence commanding attention as he made his way toward his mother. He wore a sly smile on his face, but his eyes were focused and sharp as he took in the sight of her. "Hello Mother," he greeted her with a melodious voice, his tone smooth and confident.
Frigga's eyes lit up with joy as she heard her son's voice. Without hesitation, she rushed over to him and tightly hugged him, squeezing him tightly in her arms. "Loki!" she exclaimed, her voice trembling with emotion. "Good to see you too, son."
Loki returned the embrace, holding his mother tightly for a moment before releasing her. As they separated, he looked into her eyes and his expression grew grave. "I heard what happened," he said, his voice low and serious.
Frigga's face hardened as she remembered the confrontation with Odin. "He had it coming," she defended herself, her fists clenching lightly at her sides.
Loki chuckled, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "I didn't say the contrary, mother," he replied, his voice laced with amusement.
For a moment, there was silence between them as Frigga shifted her weight from foot to foot, looking down at her feet. Finally, she spoke up, her voice careful and hesitant. "Is your body all right?" she asked, her eyes flicking up to meet his gaze briefly before looking away again.
Loki's expression softened as he gazed at his mother, taking in the slight tremble in her voice and the way she avoided his eyes. He knew that she was still reeling from her fight with Odin, and that it had affected her more deeply than she was letting on. He couldn't help but feel a pang of sympathy for her. "Yes, my body is completely healed," he assured her, his voice gentle. "I even feel stronger."
Frigga nodded, a small smile flickering across her lips. "That's good," she murmured, her voice softening slightly. "I'm glad you're okay."
Loki returned the smile, feeling a sense of warmth spread through him at his mother's words. For a moment, they simply stood there, gazing at each other in silence, before Frigga spoke up again. "Is your brother around?"
"He was there when I woke up, but he needed to go back." Responded Loki sitting on a vibrant red sofa.
Frigga crossed her arms in a fake angry expression and muttered "Can't even make time to see his mother."
"Isn't it good? He has begun to take his responsibilities seriously." Said Loki defending his brother.
A gasp escaped her mouth, and she whispered, "I don't know if he really is taking them seriously or if he just wants to escape his old mother." She said, sitting on her son's side.
"You aren't old, mother," he responded, thinking that his mother had changed a bit since his departure.
"Look at you, calling me mother. You used to cutely call me mom." She told him with a sad voice.
Loki chuckled, "Well, not everyone stays the same after more than half of a century." He said while thinking about someone that did stay the same—or so he thinks. His father, Odin, the all-father, who has been ruling Asgard for millennia now.
And so, like that, a year passed during which not much happened. The year quickly passed. It was one of rest for Loki and his army.
Most of the magenta-skinned beings that were saved by him joined his army, except a few and the kids who were sent to one of Asgard's conquered planets. It was one where many various races lived, each not being many in number, as only those rescued by Asgard lived there.
During that year, Loki spent most of his time with his mother, but he also met his father a few times. He did not hate him, but their relation was strained. If asked to choose between his mother or Odin, he would no doubt choose Frigga.
After eight months, Frigga and Odin exchanged a few words for the first time. Especially since she saw that Loki, the one who should be the angriest with Odin, didn't stop to talk with him.
This, however, did not change the fact that she was angry with him and he did not apologize. Loki doubted their relationship would be mended like it was before for a few years. Odin was too proud of that. That was his problem. He mostly acted with logic, thus not believing his choice to be wrong. But in this world, logic wasn't always what would win, well at least the logic that Odin acted on.
Of course, Frigga understood his worries about the future. She too had felt growing disturbances in the universe.
While this was happening, Loki also went to train with his army. They trained formations that would be necessary if they would be going to more dangerous worlds. Because right now, they weren't "that" many worlds that would pose a threat to Loki.
While he could not go back to the form he was in while fighting the abomination, he still had awakened as a god.
He could now speak the all-speak, making it that even his spells had become stronger. Because the all-speak is like runes, a mythical language that could interact with the universe. But there was still a long way before he would be able to manipulate the way of the cosmos.
Through his awakening, he had also now become intangible if he intends to make it so that physical attacks can't hurt him.
With the power he now possessed, he wasn't worried about canon. He can easily destroy the threat of Ultron if he in some way becomes like his What If counterpart.
The only true threat would be Thanos, because he isn't sure of his true power. Thanos is the brother of an eternal, which probably meant that he knew some mythical attacks or at least a way to fight against his intangibility. But in the head, without an infinity stone, Loki was sure he could at least hold his ground against the mad titan.
During those years, they also gained a blacksmith in their army. It was Loki and Osi's friend Bjalfi. He had become about to easily forge true Asgardian weapons, and though he was not among the best blacksmiths of the universe yet, he aspires to.
Ladon, Loki's pet snake/companion, also grew in size. She became around twenty meters long and had now acquired a vast variety of poison. She was quickly becoming worthy of being the daughter of one of the strongest existing Jörmungandr.
