Kapitel 8: Secrets In the woods
Alice while pulling Cain deeper into the woods kept looking back at him only to see him looking at her gently the entire time. That gaze warmed her heart fare more the all the time with his tail did. Looking in to his eyes made her feel safe like nothing could hurt her. She kept looking back at him till she eventually slowed down and stopped turning and just staring into his eyes. Seeing Alice's actions Cain smiled at her and brushed his tail across her face startling her.
Alice never realized his scent till this moment. His sent almost blended in with the wind in the forest. It was hard to place it smelled like the forest and grass, but more pure like it had never been tainted and had a slight musk that could drive one crazy and bring out there baser instincts. feeling his tail again she woke up from her daze. She looked at him in wonder and asked. "Why do you keep teasing me?" He looked at her and laughed. "Because it's fun to tease you. You have the cutest reactions I can't get enough."
Stunned at his response she expected it she realized after he did it the first time that he was enjoying it and how he smiled seeing her reactions. As she thought about it he gave her a slight push and ended up sitting on a low branch on a tree that suddenly appeared behind her at a unnatural height and Cain sat down beside her while putting his tail in her lap. Playing with his tail he just gave her she asked. "Why do you have animal ears and a tail?" He smiled and said. "Because I'm not human even more so than you I've never been human apparently even though I fully lived like one till recently. Also more specifically they are fox ears and tail and i have more than just one its just one is like a power saving mode for convenience sake." as he finished eight more tails appeared behind him partially wrapping her and acting like a back rest for her to lean on.
Feeling the softness of the tails around her body Alice felt like she was in heaven. She was happy she doesn't need to sleep or she probably would of passed out then. Trying to stay focused and keep on topic she then proceeded to ask. "If you're not human what are you and why are you here in Forkes." Seeing she is asking the big questions he leaned forward smiled like a fox as he caressed her face. "Well where is the fun in spilling everything at once we atleast have to go out to lunch together before you learn all my dirty secrets. However i suppose i could tell you why I'm in Forkes... I'm here for you little pixie." He said while booping her nose in a playful manner.
He came here for her. 'Does he have a similar ability to me and he used that to find me. What about all his other abilities he has showed me up till I would guess a nine tailed fox based off his tails, but he said he would tell me after we had lunch so assuming that's not right because it would be guessable what is he?' Alice's brain was running at top speed thinking over everything that has happened. At this moment Cain spoke up. "I mite tell you what you want to know if you tell me more about yourself. Also did anyone ever tell you thinking face is cute." This snapped her out of her thinking.
He was just picking on her again, but she did realize she was being a little rude by not telling him about herself and was just asking questions one sidedly. Not to mention the fact she spent all this time cuddling his fluffy tails while thinking. At this time another voice sounded out startling her and making her want to jump up but she refused to leave the fluff.
"Stop picking on Alice so much you know just as well as I do that we know more about her than probably even herself." Looking around she couldn't find the source of the voice so she asked. "Who is there?" At this moment a little bird flew down and landed in front of her. "It was I the glorious Sir. Twig!" Twig exclaimed puffing his chest out but it would look better if he wasn't still a bushtit.
Looking down at the cute little bird Alice squealed at the cute little bird and said. "Aren't you the cutest little thing. Come here so I can play with you." Alice lost all semblance of her previous serious attitude and returned to her bubbly self wanting to play with Twig but still didn't want to move from the tails she was stuck in a dilemma about what to do.
Cain looked at Twig who ruined the mysterious atmosphere he worked so hard to build up and yelled at Twig. "Watch what you are saying Twig you are making me sound like Edward." Stunned Alice looked at the bewitching fox that had been teasing her up until now. Where did all that go? How did he turn into a kid that sounded like he got ratted out to his best friend to the the girl he likes.
Then she thought about it for a minute and realized that she had probably guessed spot on. Thinking to this point she started chuckling at their antics. Having the atmosphere he worked on so hard broken by a few words from Twig he became dejected. Well at least she hasn't asked about what he said. However today wasn't his day as after a second of chuckling she looked back at Cain and asked. "What did the Great Sir. Twig here mean by what he said just now and what do you mean by making you look like Edward. Did you mean as in my brother."
Seeing her gaze he couldn't look her in the eyes. Although he loved to look at them and to see her expression whenever he teased her. He wanted to come off as cool and bewitching first and work his way to the normal goof ball he was. But Twig had to go and ruin it all. So since the goose was cooked he decided to just wing it.
While rubbing the back of his head like he was trying to come up with a excuse Cain started. "Well I guess I should start from the top. My name is Cain Fennix and I'm the newly established God of Fauna." Alice was dumbfounded her mate was a literal god. Not to mention the God of Fauna but that does make the tail seem normal though. Cain continued. "The little guy that just ruined our awesome atmosphere is Twig a God Bird and my best friend that has been with me since I was little."
Cain then went on to tell him about his life and about how he came here to meet her. He however said that what he knew about her and her family cam from a damaged record book of of the past, present and future. All of this hurt Alice's head. He also refused to tell here more about her family's past and future saying it's to not mess it up much more than a god being in the mix while chuckling.
Twig also showed her his true form amazing her at how such a tiny bird that had been sitting on Cain's shoulder most of the day was such a cool and powerful creature. After seeing Twig her curiosity got the better of her and she asked Cain about what he can do. However that question triggered his I want to be mysterious switch again causing him to say. "Well let's just say I'm much more amazing than Twig but I will show you one thing you will love." Saying so he turned in to his fox for making Alice's eyes sparkle she grabbed him and hug him tightly while rubbing her face on him.
Cain really enjoyed this even debating always staying in this form so she would do this forever. However his joy was short lived again courtesy of Sir. Twig. "Isn't Cain amazing he can turn into anything classified as fauna and use all of their abilities with no down sides even if they aren't real."
Twig exposure of his abilities made him shiver as he felt Alice's embrace tremble looking up at her he saw her eyes shining brighter than the sun. He licked her face trying to appease her but that only seemed to make it worse. She made him spend the rest of lunch break changing into different things real and fictional that she always wanted to hug even making him turn in to several pokemon. However even with all that Cain really didn't mind she got to fluff him and he got held in some nice places.
After what felt like a eternity they finally had to head back to class causing Alice to be sad but Cain promised that she could play with Twig and his tail in class she immediately became happy again dragging Cain through the halls towards there next class.
