No, they were definitely playing dice, and staring at Cael and Ginevra like they had never seen a human being before. The sheep even had pouches hanging from their necks, and the cat had a small metal bar in its ear like an earring.

But something had to be said at last. The shock abated, and Cael could evaluate the situation like it should be.

"Alright," he said. "These don't seem dangerous, although the entire situation…"

A sheep shot to its feet and bleated loudly. Other animals immediately responded with their own calls. The cat jumped to the table and hissed at Cael, pressing its ears to its head.
