The next morning I slowly woke up as remnants of the previous night floated through my mind. My conversation with Eilif left a sour taste in my mouth. 

He sympathized with Zephirin and Laith not knowing what I've been through. I emptied all my pockets, begging for crumbs of the love of the people around me. The feeling of receiving leftovers and getting humiliated for having feelings for someone and wishing they felt the same way towards me. 

I've tried to move on to someone new and forget the scars in my soul. The more I try to take a step forward, I get scared of getting hurt again and freeze on the spot. 

I find it hard to trust and let anyone in. When Zephirin whom I trusted with all of me, the one person who knows all the scars in my body and soul, didn't hesitate to do the things he knows im afraid of. What's stopping the next person from disrespecting me in the same way?
