Arthur whispered with his palm facing the tree-target in front of him. And for the eight time today, nothing happened. He still couldn't replicate what he had done in the shadow realm. It felt impossible to pull off once again.

'Why isn't it working? I thought I opened my gate to cursed energy.'

"Lactum!" he tried again by drawing all the cursed energy in his body and focusing it on a single point that was his right hand. Still, nothing happened.

He could feel it in his body, but he couldn't call it out anymore. Claudia had mentioned that cursed energy is a complex power, so maybe this is what she meant.

It was going to be as harder for him to control since he was more human in this second life.
