"I...don't..." Alistair said, shaking his head as he tried to form words. "Clyde wishes to meet with you; you know that?" he asked.

Tristan's smile widened even more.

"That old chump finally caught on!" he chuckled. "He has been spying on us since the day before your arrival."

Alistair stopped in his tracks and looked down at Tristan with a frown.

"What? Why would he do that?"

"Eventually you'd know the truth, but for now, please steer clear of my path," Tristan said, trying to hide a smirk. "I would hate to have to get distracted."

Alistair shook his head and stormed out of the room, leaving Seraphina behind. She watched him go with a pensive expression.

"Are you okay?" she asked, turning to look at the twins, who were still staring in silence. "You can stop pretending to be asleep."

They both blinked once before sitting up and looking at her.
