Leaving the police station, he looked around for Janus, but could not spot him anywhere.

For a moment he considered asking any of the police officers about him, but decided not to. He didn't want more people to start imagining things. He wasn't worried about himself, but he felt discomfort at the thought that he might compromise Janus in some way.
