Kapitel 48: Sin and the Desire for Redemption

Larsen lowered his eyes. His fingers squeezed a mug of already cold coffee.

"I made a mistake, I know," he said. "I'm the worst of the worst, I know. But I love him. I love Gustav. Life without him is torture."

"Then why did you betray him then, Mr. Larsen? For another dose?"

"You are being unfair, Mr. Krauze. I here want to redeem my past..."

"You want to return to it as if nothing had happened, meanwhile Gustav…" he paused. He didn't want to say too much about Gustav to a person who was no longer about his life. He has finally begun to forget about you and has come out of the swamp you threw him into."

"As if you were innocent in all this..."

"Of course I'm guilty and Gustav treats me accordingly with hostility. He hasn't forgiven me, even though we've been friends for years. He was so hurt by our sin. And yet he knows that I did it out of concern for him. Were you also driven by concern for him?"

"Yes! His father..."
