Kapitel 21: Another Talk

Zenesha was confused because she was sure that her body wasn't looking in the direction of the alpha general at all, but she was. Her eyes narrowed; the shock had faded, and she didn't leave her eyes off him to test if what she saw was correct.

If so, that was truly... interesting.

The alpha general, who seemingly had eye contact with her, looked in Zenesha's direction and appeared uncomfortable before he lowered his head silently and averted his gaze while simply fixing his collar as though only instinctively doing so.

Her eyes flashed, and a smile appeared on her lips. He couldn't see her in a certain sense like Prime could, but he was more perceptive than everyone else and could feel her gaze poured on him.

He was indeed special. I wonder if I can talk with him and find out if he can be my ally or just merely test how much his perception can sense me.

She nodded with this plan; as the moon ceremony was already closing in on her, she didn't have to be as careful and needed to be more proactive if she wanted to escape.

That was her doom day, she had the hunch that the moon ceremony was far more terrifying than it entails, which was the beginning of the book. It was more like... a ritual to seal her fate forever.

Of course, this theory had no evidence yet, but her intuition, which was heightened when she mastered the initial moonlight magic, was still reliable, to say the least.

As she was thinking about it amidst the continued assembly, in which she couldn't participate or be interested, her gaze happened to shift to where Prime was sitting.

Instantly, their eyes met, as his gaze had already been fixated on her since, who knows, when. Zenesha was a bit stunned, her mind blanking out, especially as his lips curled into his playful yet somewhat sinister smile. Prime's golden pupils shone with glee, as though happy that he had finally captured her attention at once.

Zenesha couldn't help but admit it once more.

Damn, how is he so fucking handsome? It's so unfair. Prime is so insane, but he is so attractive as well that I can't even lie to his face and say that he isn't.

As though he could understand what Zenesha was thinking, his head slightly tilted to the side, making his earring dangle to the side as well. The smile on his lips widened as a little bit of his white teeth become exposed, making it harder for Zenesha to truly observe his damnable attractive face.

He wore an almost small clock-shaped earring in his right ear, which was almost neglected by Zenesha when they first met; after all, would she have the time to scrutinize him before when she only wanted to talk with him and found out how she could escape her fate?

And yet, for some reason, the earring didn't make him feminine at all but only added a new touch to his appearance.

"Am I attractive?" Prime mouthed, his bright and mischievous expression revealing how much he loved Zenesha looking at him.

This was the cue as Zenesha woke up from her reverie; it appeared she had been looking at him a little too much than she intended! She thought of averting her gaze from embarrassment, but that it would also result in her loss, so she steeled her heart and thickened her face to openly and straightly lock gazes with Prime.

"So what?" She arched her brow. She didn't deny it; after all, even the man himself knew how lethal his appearance was. As she said, she admitted that Prime was indeed attractive. If she denies it, then it would even come off as if she was being petty!

Prime chuckled at her response; the glint of his eyes deepened, dazzling his surroundings. In an instant, golden mists suddenly came out of nowhere as they began to shroud the assembly hall.

Zenesha only silently watched it, but she was already getting excited to talk with him again. She hated his guts, especially his peculiar personality, which she couldn't read, but Prime was the one she needed, and she could endure anything just to turn her situation around.

In no time, the room seemed to become frozen in time, with golden mists and seemingly hazy small and big clocks enveloping the whole room and coiling with the people present. Except for the two of them, everything and everybody stopped.

It wasn't the first time that Zenesha saw the golden mists, those clocks, or the small extent of Prime's ability, but she was still stunned at how he casually stopped the time, without influencing them at all.

"Will those people not know the anomaly in this room?" Instead of showing his stunned and amazed expression, Zenesha inquired about this instead, which was also one of her concerns. Her voice had now come out from the body's lips and not only through her consciousness.

She could also move on her own as the blockade and disharmony in her body vanished once more. Fuck, he was too amazing, wasn't he? Her expressions were completely different from what was on her mind.

Prime, who was still sitting in his seat, only smiled, arching his brow with a malicious smirk. "Guess?"

Instantly, the attractiveness she felt while she was looking at him dissipated like smoke and was replaced by irritation.

He is still so annoying!

Prime's laughter soon reverberated in the silent room, which was formerly full of loud discussions. With a snap of his finger, he silenced all of them.

"You don't want to guess?" He repeated to ask, in the teasing tone he always had.

Zenesha rolled her eyes, not even scared to show her annoyance, before she stood up and stretched her body. Each time, she always had that impression of stiffness after the disharmony, although it was more psychological.

She knew that even Prime, who was technically not at his peak, was also cautious of those beings. He wasn't necessarily scared, but it would definitely foil his plan, so she knew that he was only teasing her, which was the most annoying of all.

Zenesha gave him an irritating side eye, sighing to herself at how casual Prime really was. She knew that he wasn't as desperate as she was, which made her frustrated because not only was she at the one at a disadvantage, but she was also the one who needed his help the most.

Prime could choose to wait again for someone who would help him, as he had ample time, but not Zenesha. She had no way out. It was either to fight or accept her fate, there was no in-between.
