Kapitel 54: Reforged Chapter 54: The Magical Circuit - Part 2

Duke suddenly understood why this was the case. For the Sun King, if the handsome and wealthy Kael'thas couldn't create both the Arcane Fire magical circuits in one go, even with thorough preparation, it could only mean that either Kael'thas was incompetent or that the idea of constructing a versatile magical circuit without using the Sunwell was impossible.

It was only natural that the Sun King would blurt out such a passphrase in his fury.

However, after triggering the protective measure, Duke found himself in a predicament.

Fire, in most cases, isn't gentle or benevolent.

The Sun King's Arcane Fire technique represented not only radiance but also destruction and domination. Duke naturally hoped that his body would tremble with the might of a king or tyrant, commanding all forces of the world to bow before him.

But the reality was...

Oh no!

The Fire Circuit was hijacking the situation!

Not enough power on its own, it was resorting to robbery.

Without any room for rebuttal from Duke or the system spirit, the Fire Circuit transformed into the most ruthless hijacker. Numerous thin threads of psychic flame extended from the circuit, spreading rapidly in all directions, seeking out any source of magical energy.

Duke nearly coughed up blood.

Not stealing meant death!

Stealing meant facing the consequences later.

Duke gritted his teeth. If he was going to steal, he'd steal from the biggest source. Seeing how vicious the Fire Circuit was, a mere ordinary mana source wouldn't suffice.

Aware that the local mages didn't have much power, Duke directed the circuit's greedy tendrils toward the most valuable source he knew: Medivh's mage tower!

Yes, Medivh's true lair was in Karazhan. However, as the court's chief mage of Stormwind Kingdom, Medivh had another mage tower in Stormwind City.

Medivh was evil!

Medivh was the target.

Defeat the boss, get the loot! Wasn't this fair and square?

Unbeknownst to Duke, he had become a bit unhinged, completely oblivious to his own lack of integrity. The moral decline brought about by this condition had already begun to affect him.

Entering another mage's tower without permission was tantamount to declaring war on that mage - a grave offense!

Who cares?

Duke had already obtained the Sun King's magical circuit secrets, which was an unspeakable mess. Now, he was attacking Medivh's mage tower while still practicing the technique!?

Ignore it!

If the Demon Lord Sargeras truly couldn't bear to let 'Medivh' be a righteous elder role model, unwilling to 'magnanimously' forgive Duke, then Medivh had every right to kill Duke for attacking his mage tower!

So what? It's none of my business!

Duke, like a madman, brazenly directed the Fire Circuit to attack Medivh's mage tower 50 meters away.

But fate seemed to play a joke on Duke.

Duke had already prepared to openly steal and flee with a new identity if necessary!

...

Who would have thought that his Flame Circuit's mana thread would circle around Medivh's mage tower without a sound and return, fully fed, without triggering any of the tower's magical wards?

What was going on?

Duke, who had calmed down, was almost bursting with curiosity.

The system spirit spoke: "Host! After detection, the Flame Circuit triggered resonance with 38 mana emeralds and 112 mana topaz. These mana gems seem to have... provided energy to the Flame Circuit voluntarily without triggering the mage tower's magical defenses."

Duke's eyes widened: "What? That actually works?"

Duke knew that "Gem Magic" was a unique discipline in the world of Azeroth. Mages liked to store their excess daily mana in a series of specially made gems that could store mana. They could then draw the mana back from the gems in critical moments to save their lives.

This concept was similar to ordinary people storing food supplies for emergencies.

Mana stored in gems would decay slowly over time, a very lengthy process that usually took several months. High-quality gems could retain most of their mana for several years without dissipating.

"Host, after scanning, it seems that there are elven inscriptions on these gems."

Duke understood... the Sun King, no, this was probably a backdoor that the entire elven race had secretly left for their own people. If humans and elves turned against each other at a critical moment, it would be disastrous.

Well, at least now stealing Medivh's stored mana supplies wouldn't leave any evidence.

Is stealing from the evil faction's super-boss really stealing?

Of course not—

This was called enjoying the spoils of war!

Duke genuinely enjoyed the process of receiving spoils without defeating the boss.

Alright! The proud and ferocious Flame Circuit had eaten its fill and was now at work. Following the mental guidance of the Flame Circuit, a new loop was rapidly forming within Duke's body.

Like a chain, the Flame and Arcane Circuits intertwined in loops. The Flame Circuit was derived from the Arcane Circuit but was distinct from it.

The Arcane Circuit was like the earth that bore everything, firm and solid. The Flame Circuit, on the other hand, was like a house built upon the earth, a typical superstructure.

Gentle mana flowed from the Arcane Circuit into the Flame Circuit. In the Flame Circuit, mana circulated at a higher speed than in the Arcane Circuit. During this process, mana was rapidly polarized, becoming more suitable for use in fire magic.

System prompt: "Flame Circuit complete. Congratulations, Host, for officially completing the Arcane-Fire Magic Circuit construction. The host's magical abilities have been significantly increased. From now on, the mana consumption for the host's Arcane magic is 65% of the theoretical value, and Fire magic is 80% of the theoretical value. All Arcane and Fire magic offensive spells automatically deal maximum damage."

"After detection, since the mana absorbed this time only reached the minimum value for constructing the Flame Circuit, there is still ample room for improvement. We hope the host will further perfect it in the future."

"Since the host can now automatically absorb free Arcane and Fire energy within a 30-meter radius, the simple mana value calculation formula is no longer applicable. Please explore the specifics on your own."

"Your current Mage level is Rank 9 Earth Mage."

After reading the prompt and examining the two intertwined, looped magic circuits within his mental world, Duke found that the Flame Circuit was indeed incomplete, as the system had suggested.

Although the size of the two circuits was consistent, it was easy to see that the Arcane Circuit was filled with Arcane energy, with countless streams of Arcane light filling the entire circuit. In contrast, the Flame Circuit had only half of its space filled with fiery glows.
