Kapitel 25: Come home tonight.

Lin Ye went to the hospital early that morning. Doctor Chu's patient was undergoing an emergency C-section and she had to be there in order to perform some tests on the baby after she is born.

Doctor Chu had already explained that the child had some heart problems so it was her job to offer a helping hand.

When Lin Ye entered the surgical room, the child had already been pulled out and placed inside the incubator. She looked so small and frail that Lin Ye felt an inexplicable pain.

A sudden thought came to him of a certain child but she brushed it away just as fast.

The child was rushed out and into the paediatric intensive care unit.

Lin Ye did all the tests she could and asserted that the child's heart really was bad. She had congenital heart defects and hers was atrial septal defect.

Lin Ye sighed, this was going to be a tough ride.

Wen Shao Feng brought coffee over and asked, "Beauty, what is the matter?"

Lin Ye sighed once more, "I have a patient, she is three hours old and has an atrial septal defect."

Wen Shao Feng also sighed, "Is that where there is a hole in the heart?"

Lin Ye looked up, "More or less but the hole my patient has is quite big. We can manage by using medication but she will need surgery."

Wen Shao Feng nodded, "If that is the case then I don't see any problem with that, you can perform the surgery right?"

Lin Ye sighed once more, "The problem is not the surgery. The child has another condition that was not seen during pregnancy"

Wen Shao Feng put her coffee cup down, "What is it?"

Lin Ye felt a little pain in her heart, "The baby's blood clots easily so we have to use thinners to prevent them but it will be hard during the open heart surgery."

Wen Shao Feng also felt pain, "What luck does she have?"

Lin Ye took a swig off her coffee cup, "Tell me about it."

She had never seen such an unlucky person much less one that had just been brought into the world just ba few hours ago.

The two sat in silence until Lin Ye's phone chimed with a message, it was her father.

She read it and frowned.

"What is it?" Wen Shao Feng asked

Lin Ye's frown got even deeper, "My father wants me to go home tonight, Lin Xue's engagement party is today."

"Is he mad!" Wen Shao Feng shouted, scaring Lin Ye.

"Hey! lower your voice, we are in a hospital!" Lin Ye reproached. Wen Shao Feng closed her mouth and laughed. Lin e hit her playfully in the arm.

"Is your father mad! does he know the and of history between you and Han Shuoxi that jerk!"

Lin Ye nodded, "He knows but I think grandfather is the one who has ordered him to."

The Lin family was quite big and it was led by Lin Ye's grandfather, Lin Mufan.

Lin Mufan had two sons, Lin Ye's father Lin Qiao and her uncle Lin Qian. Between the brothers, there was bad blood.

Lin Qiao was the youngest son but his father had already named him the successor of the Lin group and the elder son Lin Qian had been cast away but everything changed when an accident happened and Lin Qiao was blamed for it.

Lin Mufan stripped Lin Qiao of his status and threw him and his family out and Lin Qian who had been cast away was brought back and the company was handed over to him.

Lin Qiao had insisted that the accident happened because of Lin Qian but his father did not believe him yet today he had specifically asked him not to be late to Lin Xue's engagement party.

Wen Shao Feng sighed as she looked at Lin Ye pitifully.

Lin Ye shivered, "Why are you looking at me like that?"

Wen Shao feng somehow felt even more pitiful, "I just think your life is truly pitiful."

"How so?" Lin Ye asked.

wen Shao Feng shifted in her seat, "Your family fell from grace to grass in a span of one week, your boyfriend left you for your cousin, you had to work several jobs to pay your college tuition and...what are you doing here?"

The last part surprised Lin Ye. She turned around to look and was surprised to see Lin Xue standing there.

She was dressed nicely, Lin Ye frowned and walked out to speak to the nurse, "I am not accepting any appointments today so please show this lady out.'

Lin Xue was surprised to hear that. She ran over to Lin Ye and held her hand and then said while crying, "Sister please listen to me!"

An atrial septal defect is a birth defect of the heart in which there is a hole in the wall (septum) that divides the upper chambers (atria) of the heart. A hole can vary in size and may close on its own or may require surgery. An atrial septal defect is one type of congenital heart defect. Congenital means present at birth.
