Kapitel 35: Chapter 35：Rescue

Rosie Duvois was miserable. Her stay in the Gauthier residence was beginning to drive her mad, and time was running out. The leaves had long since fallen from the trees, and the first frost had come and gone.

Resigned to her fate, all she had to do was whittle the days away until she became a vampire.

As she read a book in the confines of her room, she once again missed the sunlight. It made sense that a vampire couldn’t handle too much natural light, but it made for a downright miserable living situation for a human.

Not that the Madam cared, of course. That was perhaps the most agonizing part of it all, that Madam Gauthier cared so little. A human life was worthless to her.

She was called out of her room for a tea break, and so Rosie exited her room and sat across from the Madam at the tea table in the second living room of the mansion. Like the rest of the mansion, it was decorated in sanguine red, midnight black, and hints of gold.
