Nadia's broken sobs and the worried eyes of maids distracted the royal family enough to not pry Rowan or curse Anastasia. 

Ana looked at the scene as if she was enjoying the theater. The princess went missing from the royal party. She was not only the foreign envoy but the second prince was courting her. Her disappearance would insult the royal family.

The knights were dispatched already to check every nook and corner of the empire and all the carriage were checked.

In the end, a maid was brought forward.

"She had seen the princess leaving!" the knight who dragged her, announced making the woman center of attention.

She flinched, bowed her head and trembled with fear when the second prince walked closer.

"Have you seen Elowen leaving?" he tilted his head. His voice was so soft velvety without a hint of rage or annoyance but his eyes were dark and cold that left anyone shivering.
