Kapitel 10: An Oath For A Soul
POV Azrael:
As I pass through the gates of Hades I see the ferry-man watching souls and begging for their money. He looks up at me and growls "leave plague bearer the firstborns down here are already dead". I look at the servant of Hades and say "I know that child of Nyx, besides you have no right to tell me where I can and cannot be for I am greater than both you and your master." He scoffs "sure you are, just pay me a few and I'll let you through I more important things to do like suit shopping" I throw a few gold coins into his skeletal palm and start flying directly to Hades palace.
I land in the front yard and break down the doors engraved with imagery of death and despair. The bronze floors of the entry hall shimmer and I hear loud footsteps and a scream of rage coming from deep within the building. Two giant doors swing open and a tall albino figure walks through an aura of death and anger surrounds him and he screams at me "YOU JUST WALTZ INTO MY DIMENSION, CLAIM YOU ARE BETTER THAN ME, AND THEN BREAK DOWN MY DOOR YOU ANGELS AND DEVILS ARE ALL THE SAME AT LEAST KNOCK FIRST"! He immediately shifts to a quieter and more reserved tone "sorry sorry we just had that door replaced after Cerberus scratched it" he says as he smooths out his robes adorned with jewels and skulls.
"What does heaven want angel of death" he asks. "Hades keeper of balance, oath bearer, and ruler of the dead I ask you to lessen your grasp on the soul of the mother of Percy Jackson" "You know how this works Azrael tell me how this action will it benefit me" "Heaven will assure that your treasure will be returned". He eyes widened no doubt wondering how we gathered this information he tried so hard to keep secret and then he grinned a sinister smile and said happily "Ha the child of Poseidon did steal it I knew he was just like his no good father however no matter how tempting that deal is it is not good enough, guarantee me that I will have the soul of the child as well think of it as compensation for the door". "That is something we cannot do Hades and you know that"
Hades sighs "fine I'll loosen my grip on her soul, but I do not want heaven to return the helmet I want the child to. Tell him to brave the underworld and come to me personally to return my helmet if he can do that I will commence the trade". "Make an oath Hades" he grasps my shoulder and says "I swear on the River Styx that I will honor the deal that has been made here" the 'sky' flashes with holy light and lightning signifying the oath between the two beings has been made. "Now Azrael please leave me alone I have work to do". As I spread my wings and start leave the palace I thank the Lord that I had to deal with Hades one of if not the only agreeable God of this dysfunctional pantheon. Now I have to return to Micheal and tell him that I have done my job.
