After a few minutes, Ares heard a knock from the other door, followed by Adrienne's bodyguard's faint voice.

"Miss, are you still awake? I'm about to head back to the Zhao estate to pick up some clothes for you. I'll return as soon as I can."

Ares felt ecstatic. He couldn't believe that things were going smoothly according to his plan. Though he found it suspicious that Adrienne wasn't showing any effects of the aphrodisiac her stepmother had given her, the paralytic drug should be enough to keep her weak.
