"Loving the vote confidence," I chuckled. 

There was one downside to learning an ability this way. The ability earned was sometimes random, meaning I could inherit something as useful as 'Elemental Adept' from Lorias or possibly get stuck with an ability that had life-altering implications such as 'Apprentice Necromancy' which would be like taking my first steps to join the dark side. And, unlike with Master Doomsday, Lorias wasn't exactly a good guy. There was a high chance this ljósálfar had some truly dark abilities in his repertoire. Abilities that could alter even my perception of right and wrong. 

"You're confident you can give me something useful right?" I couldn't help sounding a tad bit anxious. 

"You need not worry," he assured me. "There are ways to direct the energies to follow one's intent, and as I've said before, I have no intention of causing you harm, Will."
