There was this old TV show in Earth realm's nineties era about a Scottish immortal cutting off the heads of other immortals to become stronger. Each time he decapitated the campy bad guys, a seriously groovy visual effect scene would play. The clouds would come rolling in, lightning would flash from above, and then something like ghostly essence and electricity would rise out of the dead villain's corpse and flow into the hero's body.
Yeah, I know, it did sound extra groovy. Also, I mentioned this old TV show Divah and I used to binge because it was a perfect visual reference for what was happening right now.
As soon as I decapitated Grendel, an energy field different from the magical sparks of Divah's hideout surged out of the monster's corpse and blew me away. I would've splashed back into the Örmt if Liara hadn't caught me.
