Mephisto POV:
Hearing his words made me laugh, if I was no use to him he would have devoured everything I had. But I couldn't argue with him. After all he was the 'chosen one'.
" Keke that's nothing and Don't forget to keep your promise", I said.
FLASHBACK
Last Night.
Before I could react, I stood before a big black door with a large seal. The pressure it emitted surpassed anything I had ever encountered.
'What is this?!'
Before I could figure it out, I was sucked into the seal.
*ZOOM
'Where am I?'
I tried to look around, but I was surrounded by darkness. However, I could see a tiny red light in the distance, shining brightly in the dark. Curious, I walked towards it.
'A throne?'
As I approached the light, I could see a majestic throne. Although it was empty, its presence was domineering, and the pressure it exerted was the same as the door's pressure but different.
I walked towards the throne, and suddenly, I heard a voice that sent shivers down my spine. It was a voice that, even after eons, was still etched in my soul. Not just me, but any demon or old god could never forget that voice. It was the voice of the Merciless Ruler, The Greatest Evil, The Ruler Of Nights, The Devourer, The Ancestor Of Demons, Heartless Tyrant, The First King Of Demons, Chaos Bringer, The Fallen, and The Father Of All Demons. Lucifer Morningstar.
"Oh, the brat caught his first prey, huh?" He said, his voice echoing through the darkness. "But alas, he is not yet strong enough to be king. You, go serve him." He waved his hand, and before I could respond, I was sent back to Lloyd's soul space.
Still in a daze from hearing that voice, I looked at the door. It looked the same, but the only difference was that the door's seal was ripped, and a powerful aura was rushing out, headed for Lloyd's mana veins. However, the seal was not entirely broken; only 30% of it had been unsealed.
'Can you hear me? ' I asked.
After a moment I heard his voice.
"You are not dead yet?"
Lloyd POV:
After I opened my eyes I did not find any trace of the demon. That can mean only one thing.
'He~ tricking the Demon Of Tricks is sure fun'
I could feel mana surging inside my body through my mana veins. I should make a mana core now.
I closed my eyes and started compress mana as tiny as possible.
'Can you hear me? 'A voice asked.
I was startled for a second and looked around but I didn't find anyone.
'This voice? Is it coming from my soul space? '
I closed my eyes and looked inside my soul space. I could see mana rushing out of a dark door and a tall muscular figure with two red horns.
'He must be Mephisto. '
"You are not dead yet?" I said and raised my hand, ready to devour him.
"[DEVOU-" I was about to activate the spell to devour his soul but he stopped me.
"I don't have much time. You devoured more than half of my soul. Don't devour me again." He sighed and continued, " I have been tasked by your ancestor to guide you."
" Oh you mean Luci-" I was about to take his name but he stopped me.
" Don't take his name mortal, if those old gods hear his name you and this mortal realm will be destroyed. ",he said with a serious face.
' I don't remember writting anything about Lucifer's backstory. ' I sighed. 'Writing a novel and living in the novel is way too different and difficult. There seems to be many things that are happening in the world. I hope the main plots don't deviate much. '
" Okay! " I clapped my hand and looked at him with a smile." But what use could you have for me huh?" I looked at him for a second and the smile disappeared from my face, "With your half-a*s soul?"
"[DEVOU-]"
"Wait wait listen to me!" He interrupted me again.
"If your words don't satisfy me I'll devour you and this time I won't stop to give you time to speak. Now talk!" I said.
"I-I can see that you are trying to make a mana core and the method you are following is very inefficient. I have a better technique that can help you form a mana core far more better and stronger than other beings with same grade as you." He said and looked at me for a reaction.
" That's it? [DEV-]"
" I can help you absorb the mana for you till you get used to it and I'll unlock my skills after you form the mana core. What do you think? please have mercy I don't want to go to purgatory." He bowed in front of me.
Looking at a six foot demon prostrating himself infront of me made me laugh.
"Okay you got yourself a deal. And don't worry I'll find a physical body for you when I get a chance. "
" Really my liege? You are not joking with me right?? " He asked with excitement.
" I promise you that if you prove your worth. I'll grant your wish. "
