"I don't know. I guess it feels pretty normal. I've always been talented and been respected by my peers so I guess I don't see anything unusual about my situation," Arthur lied to which the kids around him began to grin.
"Well, Arthur, we would all love to be friends with you. And since we're friends now, we have to look out for each other. You see we've all been going to this school for much longer than you have so don't you think that your elders deserve a better opportunity?" the kid that had first come to Arthur said with a grin.
"Oh ya, most definitely. I would have to say I agree with that statement completely," said Arthur which put an even larger grin on the kids faces.
"So does that mean you'll put in a good word for us so that the general will tutor us himself as well?" the kid asked as if he had already secured the position.
"Huh? Where did you get that idea from?" Arthur asked to which all the kids seemed to have been confused.
"But you said that it would only be fair that we got the same if not a better opportunity than you," the kid that was speaking to Arthur complained.
"Yes, that's what I said. I believe that you all deserve a better opportunity than me. So just ask Egris yourself. It's his choice, not mine," said Arthur which caused everyone to gasp.
"D-Did you just call the general by his first name?" the kid asked and right at that moment, Egris walked into the cafeteria to hear Arthur's last sentence which included him using the general's real name.
"Yes, I did, what's wrong with that?" Arthur asked to which everyone quickly ran away from the table as they already knew what was going to happen to Arthur or at least thought they knew.
"What's up Arthur! Looks like you're getting along well with the students here," said Egris as he ignored the fact that Arthur had said his real name. This seemed to have confused everyone as they were sure that everyone in the cafeteria could hear what Arthur had said.
"Sir, did you not just hear him say your name?" one of the students asked to which everyone in the cafeteria nodded as they tried to get Arthur in trouble.
"Yes? What's wrong with that?" the general asked to which everyone just looked confused.
"Wait so are we allowed to call you by your name as well?" a student asked to which Egris turned his attention to that student before staring deep into his eyes as he placed so much fear into his soul that the student wasn't sure if he could walk straight anymore.
"Don't you even dare to think about disrespecting me like that ever again," said Egirs which not only scared the student that had asked the question but everyone else including the lunch ladies. The only one that seemed unfazed was Arthur. Even so, Arthur wanted to have some fun for a bit.
"Hey Egris, I just wanted to ask you something. You see, some of the students here believe that since they've attended this school for so long, they deserve the opportunity that I've been given. I mean it makes sense after all. I mean who cares about skill or efficiency in battle. All that matters is the person's age, right?" Arthur asked before laughing at the faces of all the students.
"My apologies. That was rather rude of me. Even so, I would like to make you an offer," said Arthur as he walked up to the student who started all the commotion in the beginning. That being the student who spoke to Arthur before everyone else.
"You see, I'll give you the opportunity you want. Meet me outside once you're done eating on the field of the school. Your task will be a very easy one. You'll have 24 hours to land a single attack or even touch me. If you manage to do that, I'll gladly ask Egris to share all the opportunities that I've been given with you. You have no problem with that, right Egris?" Arthur asked to which Egris didn't even have to think about it before replying.
"Nope, I agree with the rules you've set. I mean if he can touch you, it's completely reasonable to allow him to train like you and get the treatment that you're getting since he would be considered relative to your strength," said Egris to which the student was blinded by the reward that he didn't realize just how impossible the task he was given was.
"Thank you so much, for being so foolish," the student said with a sinister grin as he began to scarf down his food like it was air as he prepared to get the life that he had always wanted.
"Okay, just meet me outside when you're done," said Arthur before he left along side Egris.
"Why are you doing this?" Egris asked to which Arthur let out a sigh before replying.
"They all still believe that they can compete with me. Until I make it clear that they're not even slightly close to my level of power, they'll challenge me so I have to make an example out of one of them so that the rest of them can learn to not bother me. Then I can have somewhat of a normal existence here," said Arthur to which Egris nodded in agreement before they had made it to the field outside the school which was a typical football field without any of the equipment for the sport. It was just a large grass field that was nearly 5 times the size of the average football field.
After waiting just a few minutes, Arthur's challenger had made it to the field with nearly the entire school behind him. However the rest of them were turned away by Egris as they had classes to attend and as such, the only two that remained were Arthur and the student who had dared to challenge him.
