Two weeks later…
Along a dimly lit corridor, with flickering lights that cast eerie shadows along the walls, a male student with a lanky build was walking hurriedly.
Every step he took echoed loudly, bouncing off the walls as if he were in a desolate alleyway.
Drops of sweat dripped down his forehead, and his clammy palms felt as if he could wring them out like wet towels...
The days following the Class Event had been a strange mix of routine and tension.
Although the clear and unexplained absence of a few key figures in the class was a constant cause for distress, the students had since moved past it, or rather, they could not afford to be bothered by the oddity.
With so many classes to take, and so many points to prove, thinking too much was a luxurious person's game. And so, like sheep, they just went along with whatever their professors told them, all in hopes that such subservience would lead them to greener pastures.
