The dog groaned in its slumber, dreaming sweet puppy dog dreams, keeping the three chosen that walked about his lair on edge and afraid.

The trio carefully tiptoed about the wall all the way to the other end of the room where two sets of stairs, one from each side, spiraled upwards to a singular well-built luxurious door.

Ling Yue, being the first to reach the door, first and foremost inspected it, making sure it was not some sort of a trap or an alarm, and then carefully and slowly pushed the door handle down to check whether it was locked or not. Ling Yue was at this point so tired she did not even dare let out the smallest creak of the door that might wake the dog.
