It was a utilitarian way of thinking about things, but right now, we were in a life or death situation where we might actually need to cut losses. Jen was a non-combatant whose role in the party was mostly just to cook good food for us. Granted, she might be better at us at it than Lise and I combined, but ultimately, a cook wasn't really needed in a group that was constantly on the move and ultimately utilitarian. She wouldn't be missed, unfortunately, except for when everyone gets withdrawals from her divine cooking.
