Kapitel 31: 31. Erina meets Barry the Butler.
"Here we are," He announces as he drove the car into what looked like acres of land to Erina. Her eyes dilated and her vision amplified. Her jaws dropped, and her mouth fell wide open. Even her nose opened wide with awe.
And as he brought the car in front of his building, "Wow!" the word left her mouth in a breath. And she looked from the building to him, and then the building again, and this shocking look was always fun to see.
He opens his door and walks out of the car. Erina who had forgotten that she was supposed to get out of the car now, just sat there looking at the building through the glass when he reached her side and opened the door for her.
"It's more fascinating when you're inside... If I do say so myself." He stretches his hand to her, and she looked at the perfectly illuminated building that looked like what she only saw in movies.
It's a freaking glass house!!! Yes, she's seen houses with glass walls before, but this was on another level. And it was two storeys.
From what she could see now, she knew he wasn't exaggerating. It would definitely look better on the inside, she could clearly see that.
Not wanting to waste any more time because curiosity was eating her up, she dumps her toys on the seat, before placing her hands on his and he pulls her out of the car, leaving it open.
And leaving Helfer inside.
*Just as I expected, forget the unimportant lizard. Oh, the things I have to condone in this puny form.* Helfer hissed as he watched them walk away.
"Welcome home master Reuel," Barry the butler greeted as Reuel walks in with Erina. A quick glance at Erina, and the old man could tell she wasn't wealthy like his master. And from the way she was carelessly looking around like she's never been in a house like this before, he could also tell she wasn't a secretary of someone rich either.
Those were the classes of his master's previous women, and they mostly came in kissing, and touching each other, but today, his master's hands were kept to himself. In his pocket.
The weirdest thing the elderly man noticed was something he hadn't seen his master show any of his women in a long time. The sincerity of his smile. Barry could see as Reuel followed behind the lady, it was almost as if his master sincerely adored the woman. And it made the man wonder...
"If I may ask, master Reuel, the lady?"
"Ah, my bad," He pulls back Erina, who was walking head-on with her eyes wide open, and her lips constantly going... "wow!"
"This is Erina, my adorable girlfriend," Erina flushes as he introduces her, much to Barry's surprise. "Erina, this is Barry. He runs this big place. Trust me, he's the reason why you think this place is wow. Without Barry, the sparkle will be out of this place." He praises the man, causing the man to blush a little.
"oh, please I am but a mere housekeeper. It is nice to meet you, mistress." He bows to the lady, and she blushes even harder as he called her mistress.
"It's just Erina, mistress sounds weird," she giggles. "and it's nice to meet you too sir, this place is beautiful, it's enormous, how do you even manage it." She trailed off, and once again, Barry could see the glint in his master's eyes as he watched the lady.
Now, what surprised the old man wasn't the fact that Reuel had introduced the woman, but the fact that he introduced her ever too tenderly. He usually introduced them as "My woman," and even though most of the ladies liked the sound of the words, Barry could tell that they had no weight. The words carried no emotion, in fact, Barry believed he says the words "my car," or "my motorbike" with more love than when referring to his past women, but to the ladies, he was being romantic.
But right now, Barry could see an honest expression, the kind he showed to Helfer alone. And he could tell, his boss had found something special.
"Ahh, Barry, help the lady gather her things in the car... And also help me bring in and feed Helfer." He requests, and Barry dutifully bows, takes a quick glance at Erina, and walks out.
He heads straight for the open car and looks through the front, he didn't need a prophet to tell him what things belonged to the lady.
Now to find Helfer, he searched the front, then he opened the door to the back seats and...
"Ah, Master Helfer, allow me to escort you inside, I'm sure you've had a very long day." He bows.
*Alas, Barry, the only being that shows me the respect due for one of my caliber.* Helfer nods in agreement as Barry picks him up with both hands and carefully carries him in like a king.
He would come back for the lady's things. First, he has to attend to the almighty Helfer.
