Kapitel 35: Garth vs Loki Familia

What's this! Another chapter in the same day!

Well there is a reason for that. There are no longer any advanced chapters on Patreon anymore because I've committed myself to my main story now and it is what the majority of my following like and want.

Now that does not mean I'm dropping it. Instead I'm turning this into a commission story. This is where you go to do the commissions:

https://ko-fi.com/vulkizarozoromi

The charge is £3 per 1000 words. Each chapter will have only 2000 words max, so £3 for 1000 words, and £6 for 2000 words. I will write the chapter, upload it to my Patreon where it stays for two days.

A patron will only be charged £3 for a chapter.

Then it will be uploaded onto webnovel.

From time to time, I will come back to this story on my own but now that I have gotten 'Chaos Orario' on good tracks, I'm focusing most of my attention on there.

Thank you so much to those that followed this story for so long.

(General POV)

(18th Floor, East Wall)

The executives of the Loki Familia stood at good distance from each other yet facing one direction with their weapons drawn. Ais was fully healed up and her armour fixed by a simple spell from Garth. Again this set off Riveria into a discussion on magic again but it gave time for the group to mentally prepare themselves for the fight to come.

Over twenty feet away from them stood Garth himself with his cape off and his hands by his side, wriggling his fingers as he loosened them up. Not one of his opponents dared to take their eyes off of him as they all crouched into stances, ready to counter any sudden move he made.

"Are you lot ready then?" He asked them.

"Yes, we are. It feels a little surreal now that I think about it." Finn said.

"Well you can bet that shit is about to get real, real quick my friend." Garth replied as he looked over them all.

The twins in particular were hopping in excitement while everyone else was moderately composed. Gareth seemed to hold a bit of frown on his face and his axe was held upright in both hands.

"You don't seem particularly ready yourself Garth." Gareth said as he observed how the boy was relaxed in posture and didn't seem to ready himself for battle.

"Oh trust me. I am ready. Try not to faint before I can land anything on you won't ya?" Gareth smiled cheekily.

"Don't underestimate us lad." Gareth smiled. "You'll find that we have a few tricks of our own up our sleeves."

"You do remember my level right?" Garth pointed to himself. "While I myself am of the opinion that level indications are rather restrictive, mine is still greater than all of yours combined. What's more, I'm actually going to be restricting a heavy percentage of my power just to give you a chance."

"A question." Said Riveria. "Why exactly are you doing this anyway? I really can't see any reason why you need to do something like this. It doesn't really benefit you in anyway at all."

Garth put his fingers on his chin and tapped it as he considered her words.

"True." He said. "I might get a little more experience in learning how to fight but you are correct. It doesn't benefit me." He thought for a little more before thinking of something. He smiled at them. "Very well then. Each and every one of you is a leading member of a rival Familia. Consider that all the reason I need to challenge you."

The Loki Familia processed this reasoning before the older three understood the hidden meaning behind them.

"I see." Finn said. "In this battle, we are not fighting our friend. You want us to treat you like a rival."

"Precisely." Gareth nodded. "Don't get me wrong. I still love you guys but it's no secret that there is extreme hostility and competition between our respective Familia. I can guarantee that I am nothing like them, but if you wish to gain anything out of it, then its best you forget about our friendship for now."

"Understood." They all replied.

"Very well then." Garth's smile dropped and his eyes took on a hardened look, his demeanour leaking the hostility of a bloodthirsty opponent on their makeshift battle field. Every member of the Loki Familia suddenly felt a cold chill as gust of wind blew through the entrance to the 17th floor.

The next moment, a heavy pressure fell upon them as battle intent washed over them in tidal waves. The older three shuddered, feeling as if Balor was staring down at them, a monster that none of them could defeat quite yet. If only they knew that the monster rex of the 47th floor was nothing compared to this being.

"Let's begin." He said darkly as suddenly he blitzed out of sight. They pushed their senses to the max, and only the level sixes just managed to catch a blur rush past them all to the edge of the treeline.

A couple of moments later, a gust of powerful wind slammed into them threatening to take them of their feet as it raged on. The only one who couldn't keep her feet was Lefiya and she was carried off screaming and flipping in the air while clutching her staff dearly. She landed a few feet away as the winds died down and the adventurers recovered.

Their hair was ruffled and they breathed heavily as result of being under pressure from the wind. They looked behind them to see Garth standing there with his back to them, a few more trees having been ripped out of the ground roots and all and flung away by the torrential wind.

"Too much." They heard him say as he turned around. "You were lucky I didn't put more effort into that."

"Then would you just come at us already!" Bete yelled. His natural response to being unnerved was yelling.

"Have it your way." Garth said before he moved again. Bete didn't even see him coming, nor did he even register as Garth smashed his palm in the werewolf's face 'gently'. The force of the attack sent him flipping through the air as blood flew from his nose. He smashed into the cliff face and disappeared in a cloud of dust and debris.

The younger lot gaped at the sight in complete shock. What had happened to Bete looked extremely painful, and it happened too fast for them to register.

"Don't lose focus!" They heard Garth's voice again as he suddenly phased into view in front of Tiona. She managed to see the fist cocked in time and lifted her Urga to block the punch. But to her horror, she felt the weapon vibrate with the impact before cracks appeared and the double-bladed weapon shattered.

Garth's fist continued until it hit her in the sternum. She gasped as the wind was knocked out of her and she went surfing face first through the dirt.

"TIONA!" Her sister cried out before she faced the silver hared boy, gritting her teeth. "Asshole! Why did you go and do that for?"

"It's a spar." He said casually. "I can never understand why you just seem to shout at me all the time. What did I ever do to you?"

"I'll tell you once I beat your face in." She brandished her daggers and jumped at him. He ducked and then grabbed the back of the garment that held her bosom in place as she passed him.

He slung her up into the air and jumped up after her as they soared over the treeline. He jabbed towards her and she crossed her daggers. His fast slammed into the crossed blades, but sent shooting back towards the ground. Trees exploded from the force of her body and she bounced along the grassy ground, throwing up dust clouds high into the air for the people in Rivira to see.

Ais suddenly jumped towards him, literally flying in his direction as her body was coated in Ariel.

"Your wind magic is impressive. But not enough." Garth said as he blew in her direction. Ais felt as if a hurricane had hit her as Ariel was dispersed effortlessly and the force of his breath slammed into her and threw her back down on the ground.

Garth landed safely, but in the same moment he ducked forwards as and axe swiped the air where his neck had been. Gareth was behind him mid-air, having attempted to attack him in hopes that his guard was down while he landed.

But Garth was too quick, and quickly grabbed the axe blade and brought it over his head. Gareth came with and found himself slammed into the ground that made a crater around them with spider cracks stretching all around.

Without even looking, Garth held his hand up in front of him and caught the point of a spear directed at his face. Finn struggled on the other end as he'd felt he'd just struck a rock.

Well, as he was now Finn was more than capable of destroying any rock with that thrust but this felt the same as his days being a beginner. The spear had not budged the hand one bit and it seemed that Garth needed no effort to hold it in place.

Garth let it go and back flipped away from Gareth's body as Finn went after him. The Captain of the Loki Familia twirled his spear expertly and attempted to stab it through Garth's face. But all he would penetrate were after images as Garth dodged from side to side with his hands clasped behind his back smiling the whole way through.

Garth then ran forward and caught Finn's neck in the crook of his elbow. He dragged his arm forwards and Finn was thrown right into Gareth as their heads slammed together and sent the two flying through the dirt.

Garth then caught sight of a ball of fire headed his way. Nonchalantly he slapped it away into Tiona who stood up only to get a face gut full of fire and was sent sprawling again. Garth then turned to where the fireball had come from, seeing Riveria and Lefiya standing posed with their staffs in front of them. He wasn't sure which one of them had let it loose but it mattered little.

He clapped his hands in their direction, sending a giant shockwave hurtling towards them They didn't stand a chance as the both blasted off again flailing about as their robes flapped around them. Well Lefiya at least. Riveria stayed calm and flipped to land on her feet.

"Don't count me out yet!" Tione yelled as she suddenly landed in front of him and started slashing at him with her weapons. He ducked and weaved with small movements of his upper body. Tione snarled and started slashing faster, eventually becoming a blur that generated small wind that started blowing behind Garth.

Deciding he'd had enough, he lifted both hands and grabbed both daggers by their blades. Tione's eyes widened as they didn't even cut through him. If anything, it looked like her weapons gained small dents in them. He kicked her in the chest, booting her away from her weapons as they stayed in his palms.

Ais barrelled towards him with Ariel shielding her this time, Garth tossed up the daggers and caught them in a reverse grip. Blocking her rapier with one of them, he swiped at her with the other too fast for her to block. The breastplate offered no resistance as the damaged dagger cut clean through it.

However, that was all Garth had aimed to do and pulled it back from cutting her clothing and her skin. Ais although taken by surprise did not let up and unleashed upon him a flurry of sharp thrusts. Garth was not as skilled at her in sword play but his perception had sped up so much now to the point he was easily able to identify feints and real attacks.

He was also able to easily deflect her attacks now more smoothly, getting used to the intrinsic arts of sword play. He deflected it away to the side then spun around giving her a round house kick. His heel smashed into the side of her face. It was a little amusing to him as it happened to him in slow motion.

Watching her cheek get smushed and then the other cheek balloon out as her face absorbed the impact. He chuckled as he realised that he'd given her the same treatment that she'd given Bell when she trained him on the outskirts of Orario.

As her body went flying, Bete ran up on him. As Bete approached, he jumped up and successful grabbed the rapier from Ais's hands. Sticking the blade into tiny holes in his Flosvirt, his boots lit up with the same wind magic. He threw the rapier to the side and flipped in the air to try and land an axe-kick on Garth's heads.

He may as well have kicked an immoveable object as the boot stopped dead straight in the silver haired boy's palm.

"Do you do anything other than kick?" Garth muttered. He swung Bete down behind him and the werewolf slammed onto his back, wind and blood knocked out of his mouth.

Garth then kicked a little dirt behind him, imitating a dog covering the dump it had taken. Or at least, that was the image that went through Garth's mind. He just didn't like Bete...

The kick however created a shockwave that carried Bete away from him, sending the werewolf headfirst into the elf duo that were trying to chant again. Bete's body was akin to a missile, in the fact that even they could not see him coming and so their heads connected and rattled like coconuts.

Gareth and Finn tried to come at him from both sides. He disappeared from view and reappeared with their faces in his hands. He ran forwards and threw them back at their friends, their bodies bouncing violently on the ground.

Garth looked at them all and realised all his opponents were stationed in front of him again. This time however, instead of their backs facing the treeline, they were facing the clifface.

"I'm going to wrap this up now guys." He called out to them as they looked at him. "With one final move."

He dug his hand in the ground and seemed to grab a hold of it as the floor shook around them. He smiled at them and thrust his hand upwards, as if he were flipping a table.

The ground was torn up in front of him, a wave of earthen destruction roaring towards them that took them off their feet and displaced so much of the terrain around them, it looked as if a natural disaster had somehow gotten in. The Loki Familia were thrown into the cliff, followed by series of giant boulders. They all held there for a moment before they slid to the ground again, dazed and defeated.

Garth looked at them forlornly and sighed in disappointment. Not at them but at himself. He looked down at his hand and clenched his fist. 'As I thought. I'm too strong.'
