Kapitel 45: The Threat

With a heavy sigh, Carter stormed out of the apartment, slamming the door behind him. Bella let out a breath and closed her eyes, trying to calm down. Shortly after Carter left, Christine arrived at the apartment. Bella opened the door with a smile that looked strange to Christine's eyes.

  "Well?" At the door she stopped to look at Bella in surprise. "What happened here?"

  Bella shook her head. "Carter just came in and saw Reef was here. And he was angry. The two of them were arguing when I came out of the room. I'm such a dumbass for not changing the locks right away. Carter has gotten into the annoying habit of going in and out of the apartment on a whim lately."

  "Then you really should change the locks, Bella." Christine stepped inside after Bella. The sitting room was now empty. However, there were voices in the kitchen.
