"Are you alright Hazel!" Grandma asked perturbed and I smiled. "I'm fine!" Everyone was focused on the serious conversation between Carie and Lukas's relationship, and this monster was rubbing my thighs endlessly.
I gave Alex a stop it look and he smiled then sipped his drink with the help of his free hands. This was so inappropriate, this was sexual harrassment. I was at the verge of loosing it. I felt wierd inside, a kind I couldn't explain.
I held his wrist from moving further into my forbidden area, but his fingers kept searching for a way out and it touched my panties a little. It was ticklish. I couldn't control my self and I gave a wierd sound.
Everyone tuned to look at me immediately, it was only then did Alex's hands return back to it's normal position. I felt blood rush down my body, this was so embarrassing.
Alex just made me embarrass myself before our entire family, and he kept his expressionless face and even joined them to stare at me. My cheeks flushed red from embarrassment, I could die at that moment.
"Are you sure you're alright love?" Grandma asked again. "Hmm, I'm fine!" Their eyes finally left me and I glared at Alex who kept chuckling softly. "Game on!" I muttered.
"Pregnant for me? Haha, that's the most expensive joke of the century!" Lukas said in a firm tone. He will surely kill Maya when next he sees her, that fool signed a contract with him and still went ahead to expose their affair.
Carie gave him a grave expression, she knew Lukas so well, especially when it came to Maya. What if Maya was pregnant with Lukas's child and now she lost the baby. "Why then did she take an abortion pill if she knew she was carrying the Viotto's grandchild?" Connie asked for her sister Elizabeth to nod in agreement.
They had no idea that Maya tried to kill Carie's child. If they find out, it'll only make this matter more complicated and their suspicions will be right. I turned to Alex and gave a pitiful look.
He stared at me for some time and sighed, "Lukas has been with me for three weeks, he never once got close to that Balowe daughter!" Alex finally spoke and everyone turned their attention to him. Lukas was agape and they exchanged looks.
"Are you saying this because he's your friend Alex, remember Carie's also your younger sister!" Father said irritated. Alex hesitated his answer and I intwined our fingers together under the table, squeezing it softly.
He stared at me before parting his lips, "I know it's family first, I personally have not been in support of their relationship. And besides, Carie's carrying the grandchildren of the Viotto's!" Alex said nonchalantly. I could see the astonished looks on everyone's face.
These looks were priceless.
"Carie's pregnant?" Mother asked first and then greatgrandma before grandma. Even Avery was shocked too, even if she decided not to speak about it. Since we got here she's not said a word, or maybe since my wedding.
Mother turned to me immediately, "Did you know about this Hazel?"
What was I supposed to say? I told Alex to defend his best friend not expose their secret. "W... Well mother, I only just found out before the wedding!" "What?"
"I asked her not to let you know, cause I didn't want to ruin the wedding!" "Who told you you were going to ruin the wedding, we would have asked for a double wedding!" Mother declared leaving everyone astounded.
"Carie's pregnant with our grandchild, tell me love what gender we need to start arranging for the bridal shower!" Aunt Connie said. "Lukas you have made me a proud Aunt, oh father would be so excited!" Aunt Elizabeth added.
"Why didn't you at least say a word to us, we're family no matter what my love!" Grandma said as she hugged Carie. "Well it seems my family already accepts this marriage!" "Welcome to the family Lukas!" Father said.
"Thank you Father!" "We need more heirs in this family, it seems the women are multiplying daily!" Father finally said and left the table. "Oliver doesn't have to worry about that, Hazel can give us all the grand son's we need!" She winked at me and I gulped.
It seemed Carie's pregnancy was giving everyone children fever, cause they didn't realize how old they've become, if Carie did not announce her pregnancy.
As usual, the ladies left the table to the lounge to discuss about the marriage plan and Carie's pregnancy. Mother and her old crew went ahead to get aquainted with the Viotto's. I sat still on the table still eating slowly, Alex and Lukas didn't leave the table either.
"Thank you bro!" I heard Lukas speak. "I didn't do it for you!" I stared at Alex and notice his gaze on me. My heart skipped as his gaze. Alex left me on the table as he left with Lukas, both men were really engrossed in a serious conversation.
I left for our room late at night, after my chit chat with Carie, I got back to my room. I was happy, one of my worries out of many was settled. Our family finally accepted Lukas's family. I stepped into the room to see Alex sitted on the couch.
He seemed busy with work stuff, I wish I could help but I knew nothing about his kind of businesses. I sauntered to the bathroom quietly for my night bath and climbed the bed after I was done.
Raising the duvet to my breast level, I saw Alex stand from his sit as he walked up to me. "What took you so long to get here?"
"I wanted to have a quick talk with Carie!"
"On how to make babies?" I glared at him. "It was so unfortunate that you heard about our conversation!"
"And you call those conversations meaningfull?" I was dumbstruck, words failed me at the moment. "Thinking of the impossible will not take you anywhere!" He started.
"We could freeze your eggs so you don't get pregnant in the process, i wouldn't want to have children with you!" Alex's words were like thousand daggers piercing into my heart.
Was I that bad that he didn't want to have kids with? Even if we weren't meant to have kids, it is totally wrong telling a woman you want to have sex with that you don't want to have kids with her.
"Did I offend you in any way? Did I do something wrong?"
He was about to add the ointment to my neck when I moved his hands away from me and left the room. I was at the verge of crying I didn't want him to see me in that state. I got out of the mansion to the garden for fresh air as my sobs filled the place.
I was hurt, hurt by his words. Deos he know what his harsh words does to me? My sobs got louder, but just enough to fill the garden.
"Hazel!" I turned around only to see Delaney behind me.
