In the quiet white room of the hospital wing, two nuns stood around a bandaged man as their superior, the priest of the Church, stood bowing his head.

Their expressions were pensive as they stood around the hunched man, exchanging glances every so often while looking at the bandaged man.

The priest — Father William — pressed his lips into a thin line as he let out a sigh, the silence in the room was unnerving, it seemed to be grating on his nerves as he watched the Marquess of Wales rock back and forth until finally, he stilled and deathly so.

He watched as the painter looked up, tear-glazed eyes and dry trails sliding down his cheeks. His eyes were dazed as he stared off at the white wall in front of him.

His eyes seemed out of focus, seemingly lost down the memory lanes as his lips trembled, a soft murmur resting on his lips as the sound of his voice gradually rose in the deathly silence.
