66.84% Wretch: Exception To The Rule / Chapter 125: With My Mind

Kapitel 125: With My Mind

A bad perk of turning into a complete lunatic however was that your emotions were way out of your own control, in the case of what was left of O'fiel, he was particularly easy to frustrate.

A single, somewhat derogatory comment was all that was needed to make him go off the rails completely.

"Solitar!" he literally growled, gnashing his teeth together so hard that the swordsman could see them being moved from side to side.

He made a big movement with his arms, it appeared like he was going to throw something right at Sir Solitar however, his mind never conjured up anything at all.

"Huh?" O'fiel failed to instantly realise where the issue lied, his eyes wide open as he couldn't understand why his divine powers weren't doing what he wished.

It was deeply shocking for him but he was soon pulled out of his daze as the reason for it started manifesting itself.

It started from his fingertips, it looked as if something was erasing them completely out of existence, after his fingers, it propagated to his wrists, then to his arms, up to the entirety of his body.

"How am I dead?" he could only wonder in sheer stupefaction, his eyes, slowly going away as well, gazed at Solitar, who didn't appear to have moved from his spot at all, yet, the swordsman wasn't surprised by the development.

Why would he? He was the one who had just slashed every little part of O'fiel.

From the oracle's point of view, everything was slow but in reality, his entire body was seemingly erased from existence, not even leaving a speck of blood behind.

O'fiel had received a slight bit of flesh from Dramentia, but as the mad dragon had once told Axiolypito, the oracle wasn't very fit for it and neither did he ever partake in what was necessary to grow more accustomed to it.

Dramentia's flesh wasn't meant for anything other than himself after all, if not properly taken care off, it would never serve as anything more than a slight boost to defense, a derisory one at that.

O'fiel was lucky that his mind powers and the madness he received upon gazing at the dragon for an instant paired up well together, otherwise he wouln't even have retained the ability to walk or breath.

His head would have probably exploded in normal circumstances, since the melting dragon hadn't even tried to purposefully infect him with his flesh, he was nothing more than a sorry incident.

Though, Dramentia had still attempted to use him to spread some more of his flesh to others but it hadn't been conclusive enough, the dragon had no good footing in this world and its will firmly rejected his influence, unless he could cross into this world himself, it was all meaningless.

O'fiel wasn't a chosen one in the least, he was just what was left of a coincidence.

'Huh...' Solitar took a few steps back as he noticed that it wasn't quite over yet.

Despite all of this, O'fiel had still carried that flesh for a long time, it seemed like it had the slighest bits of awareness, which was enough for it to bring back his decimated body back together from what was nearly nothing.

However, O'fiel had essentially been killed, as such, Solitar wasn't certain if what was standing in front of him was the same thing as before.

O'fiel had been a living being, he breathed air, had a beating heart and possessed life force.

The white flesh however, came from a being that was neither alive nor dead, another state entirely, it had roughly remodelled O'fiel's body without a tinge of life.

He was definitely humanoid in shape but nothing else was similar to the man that had been there moments ago, his form was seemingly constantly melting like goo yet never falling to the ground.

His dark and yellow eyes were bulging out of his mishappen head, a gaping and toothless maw with strings of the white flesh linking both of the jaws and cheeks, if one could even give such names to this being's body parts.

His robe and clothes were now truly one with him.

He tried to say something as he flashed a demented smile but all Solitar heard was gurgled laughter.

Such a sights would scare most people shitless, for good reasons, but the collected swordsman saw this for what it was, nothing but a meaningless last ditch effort.

O'fiel wouldn't be able to handle being changed like this for even five minutes, he couldn't handle having his very being messed with by an apostle of Mov.

As such, Solitar held no fear, only regret that he wasn't able to end O'fiel more swiftly.

The oracle's mind had been broken when he 'died', so all this amalgamation of nightmares could do was swing and change its form sluggishly, well, sluggish only from Solitar's perspective.

He didn't even bother to counter attack, silently dodging the blows as they got weaker and weaker, as he had predicted, the transformation didn't hold up for longer than five minutes and soon enough, the mass of melting flesh collapsed and began disappearing into thin air.

This fight was even easier than that against Axiolypito for Solitar, the jump in power of his old friend wasn't nearly enough to close the gap there had always been between them, O'fiel had been but a respectable seer after all, not a combatant.

Had he not forgotten how to do his predictions, Solitar might have had to try harder though.

He felt no sense of victory from this fight, the one enemy he truly felt was right to point his blade at was Mov and its apostles but he had failed to finish Axio off and would most certainly never be able to fight any other apostle.

Whatever could be summoned from the crystals wasn't their true selves, that he felt certain about.

He also firmly believed that he wouldn't be able to fell Axiolypito, even if he had definitely overpowered him in every aspects, he couldn't shake off the idea that nothing would be able to stop him until his purpose was fulfilled.

'Perhaps...' a thought went through his mind.

Could it be possible?
