Standing up from the desk, Wyatt quickly gazed around the room in case they missed anything. After realizing they checked everything it was time to continue forward.
Sadly besides some minor details about the foreigner's struggles, they still didn't learn anything about where the group went, or who sent them. Looking around the room, Wyatt realized that the only possible path left was a metal set of doors along the left side of the room.
If Wyatt wasn't in such a hurry earlier while looking for information, he probably would've noticed the large metallic doors before anything else. The reason for this being that as soon as he got a good look at them, Wyatt realized the door looked oddly familiar to him.
The metal doors gave off an eerily similar feeling to when the group fought Arken the Wolf King not long ago.
"Wanna bet the boss is behind that?" Bellamy chuckled while leading the way toward the door.
Wyatt chuckled a bit in response before walking over to help his partner push the large doors open.
THUD
The metal door quickly slammed open causing a large cloud of dust to fly into the air. Wyatt and Bel quickly covered their mouths to avoid the dust before examining the new room. This time however they didn't have the chance to get a good look before their eyes landed on the massive icon floating in the room.
[Ergus the demented] [Boss Monster] [level 9]
"Holy..." Bel mumbled in shock as he made eye contact with the creature sitting in the middle of the room.
After reading the journal, Wyatt and Bel already knew about Ergus. But currently, their prior knowledge of the situation completely flipped, Because the Ergus in front of them was clearly a chimera.
"Hey, Twite... I'm gonna be honest. I don't think we stand any chance against that thing" Bellamy declared while looking at Ergus with a mix of both horror and disgust.
They could clearly tell that Ergus was human, Or at least used to be human. The basic outline of his body hadn't changed very much, besides being nearly double the size of an average man.
After that, the resemblance of Ergus's past self didn't extend much further. All over Ergus's body dark red scales could be seen covering him. Following the scales with his eyes, Wyatt eventually noticed a large reptilian tail sticking out of Ergus's behind. At the end of the large tail was a large ball that could be used for blunt damage.
Although the boss didn't look as disgusting or terrifying as some of their previous opponents, Wyatt could tell with a simple glance that it would be impossible for the two of them to take it on by themselves.
"Sigh... I guess we really have no choice but to give up for now" Wyatt declared in frustration before preparing to leave the dungeon.
He was clearly disappointed that after coming all the way here, he didn't manage to gain much in his progress toward his poison affinity. Learning about the Toxicologist subclass was a good start, but Wyatt still had no idea where to even find a teacher for it.
"Don't worry! we can always come back in the future with a full team" Said Bellamy, trying to comfort his partner. Luckily, Wyatt was only a bit disappointed and not actually sad, so he quickly shrugged it off before preparing to leave.
FLASH
Suddenly just as the duo was about to exit the large marble room, Bellamy's hand started glowing once again.
"crap..." Bel Grumbled
Wyatt, who also noticed the glow, quickly asked Bel what was wrong.
"Nothing much, It just seems like your favorite stalkers finally managed to catch up with us" Bel Chuckled
-------------------------------------------------------------------
"Hector, are you sure they went in here?" Lukas questioned in obvious confusion. Clearly with the dungeon recommended party size of at least 5, even if Twite and his earlier teammate accidentally bumped into this place, they much have a death wish to actually enter.
Hector was also racking his brain trying to come up with a reason for the duo to choose to enter, until one of Lukas's underlings mumbled
"What if there isn't only the two of them"
Both Lukas and Hector's eyes widened in shock.
"Of course! They must have already made plans before to meet up with their full team at the dungeon entrance" Lukas shouted out in excitement.
However, unlike Lukas, Hector didn't look very happy.
"If they already planned to challenge this dungeon beforehand, they must be pretty confident in their teams' abilities..."
In truth, many of Lukas's weaker team members weren't very confident after seeing the dungeon description. After hearing that Twite most likely had a strong team with him, they were even more reluctant to continue.
"Why are you so afraid? As long as we catch them after the boss fight, we can easily take care of them when they are exhausted" Stated Lukas, finally instilling some confidence in his team.
If they managed to catch their opponents off guard, not only could they get Lukas's revenge, they might even be able to steal some of the bosses' loot. Even for the more cowardly players, This chance was too tempting to pass up.
"We just need to take our time, and make sure they don't see us sneaking up on them!"
Completely unbeknownst to Wyatt, due to a silly misunderstanding he had gained a lot more time to plan out his moves.
----------------------------------------------------------
"So, how do you want to do this?" Bel questioned
Wyatt paced around the room thinking for a bit before replying "How long do you think they will need to reach us?"
Since Bellamy's skill just acted up, the stalkers should still be near the entrance of the dungeon. Aftering thinking a little Bel responded "Probably about an hour"
"If they choose to play completely safe an hour and a half would be possible" Bel continued
Wyatt continued to pace around while listening to the reply, after pondering over Bel's guess for a bit, Wyatt declared
"That should be enough time! I think I have a plan"
