Adel’s POV.
“No,” Nora said to me before pushing me back against the pillows.
“Nora, you don’t understand, I felt what he was intending to do, you have to let me up!” I tried to yell at the Star Seeker, but my voice still was barely above a croak.
“And I’m telling you no, Luna…” Nora insisted though she didn’t sound convincing. “If you rush out there, you run the risk of further damaging your healing body and distracting Nix, let alone showing our Clan that you don’t trust him.”
“It’s not a matter of trust, Nora,” I tried to plead. “It’s a matter of saving his life… For the clan.”
Nora stood over me, hovering like a guardian angel. Slowly she sank onto the bed next to me. I felt the fight from my body relax slightly as her expression opened to me. Waiting for me to explain myself. But how do I explain what I felt? How Nix’s final I love you felt more like a goodbye than an omission of love.
