Kapitel 36: Chapter 36: Divine Poison

Casey and Lavinia rode the elevator to the top of the large apartment building, right to the penthouse. There, a small hallway awaited them.

After knocking, the pair waited at the door.

Whatever Casey expected, she certainly could not have anticipated what Adelaide would be like.

The woman who answered the door had cascading red hair that hung in ringlets. Her face was marked with freckles, more than Casey had seen on anyone. She was only a couple of inches shy of Lavinia’s height.

Her smile was radiant and innocent. Except that she smiled with her mouth open, which revealed her fangs.

The accent she had was vaguely Irish, but certain sounds were reminiscent of the northern east coast. “Liv! Where have ya been? It’s been too long.” Her voice was deep. Very deep.

Casey only met her eyes for a moment, as she had to maintain the charade of being a servant. She carefully looked to her ‘mistress’.
