Kapitel 26: Chapter 26: Seeking, Finding, Hunting

Lavinia drummed her fingers against her leg in a circulating rhythm as she sat in the passenger seat of Ardashir’s car. It was far nicer than her’s. She supposed he was compensating for something. Probably his lack of status at court.

Ardashir was frowning as he drove. They had been to two stores within driving distance and no one had seen Casey.

Lavinia would hunt for her as long as she needed but the sun would be rising soon. She needed to find her or go home for the day.

They passed the large, middle-class store that sat fairly close to Lavinia’s house. There wasn’t exactly an abundance of space in the city, so they tended to go further out for what they needed than the average city dweller.

Lavinia saw it, though. Her car, sitting in the corner of the cramped parking lot.

“Here!” she almost shouted it and Ardashir jumped slightly. “Pull in here!”
