[LENA]
Luca woke me up at the crack of dawn the next day.
"Sorry, my love, I would've let you sleep in, but I don't want us to overstay our welcome. You can sleep again when we get home," he said gently, coaxing me up with kisses on my face.
He was right.
I sat up quickly. A wave of embarrassment coursed through me when I remembered what happened last night, and that we did it in the settlement, surrounded by people who could hear us in the dead of night.
Oh, heavens! They definitely heard us, didn't they? It wasn't just our moans, but also the creaky floorboards. I didn't give it much thought in the heat of the moment, but now I realize how noisy we must have been.
I buried my face in my hands.
"Hey, are you okay?"
I looked up and saw that Luca was fully clothed. I snatched the quilt to cover my exposed chest.
He raised an eyebrow and smiled. "You know, I've already seen everything. You don't have to hide from me, Lena."
