Kapitel 27: Chapter 26: One hit list

Few hours later:

They arrived home and almost immediately Dave waved goodbye almost oblivious to the fact that he had bags.

Dave saw Olivia run after him but he chose to ignore her, the girl did try to lie to him so for now he didn't seem to trust her.

He walked home drenched in rain and completely empty handed and with each step he sighed.

The rain specifically choose to pour heavily as it noticed his flashy attire. Olivia eventually caught up with him and tried to catch her breath.

"I'm sorry for everything but...

"But what?" Dave yelled as he tried to move her hand from his shoulder.

"There's still a chance, he said Josaphine will be fine if....

"If?"

"If we cooperate with his conditions"

"And?"

"Nothing more, for now no adults, no police it's best if we keep things this way, we still have one task to accomplish"

"Which is?"

"Scamming" she said quietly as Dave looked at her slightly less uninterested.

Dave was infact really deceitful and scamming never meant anything to him, he said it was not scamming but rather safekeeping. The same way he called stealing 'borrowing'.

As he looked at Olivia he smiled,

"Who should we scam?" he asked.

"He said we should start from school" Olivia explained as she noticed she was getting soaked in the now heavy rain.

"Excellent" he said as he rubbed his hands together, probably scheming.

"I've got an idea" he said as he looked at the pale looking Olivia.

Frank and his ex-wife sat on the couch awkwardly and tried to ignore each other's presence. Frank looked at her and sighed.

"How would she react when she finds out that we use humans as lab-rats she'll hate me some more and probably scold me for all my past mistakes" he thought inwardly as he looked away.

Frank noticed the empty house and wondered where Molly was. Yes she wasn't comfortable with him but whenever she saw Olivia's mom she would brighten up.

"Where is that little scoundrel" he said silently hoping the slightly irritated woman next to him did not hear him.

"She's with Josaphine and Robert" she explained as she tried ignoring him once again.

Frank looked at her and slightly swore that he would patch their broken relationship, but silently he knew there was still one thing in his way, his work.

He looked out the window and finally noticed it was raining. He walked to his private room and looked at his evidence bag. The only reason he still worked for his employer and because he would get arrested if he tried acting rebellious, he once saw a worker thrown into the execution room with two guards guiding him.

If he went behind bars, Olivia's and Molly's reputation would definitely go downhill. He looked at the empty beakers and wondered why his boss had not ordered another shipment of the specimen he was supposed to observe.

"Hmm, could have been the bad weather, I did observe that the slime is fairly affected by rain" he whispered to himself as he looked at the beakers again.

"If boss finds out I have a family he'll hunt us down, I can't let this happen that's why as soon as Molly returns we'll pack our bags and leave" he said silently as he noticed a small amount of blue slime oozing from its container.

He marked the container dangerous, closed the lid and walked away.
