Kapitel 31: Alexa V/S Maya: A fight for approval

"Stop right there! Don't even think about moving a muscle," Maya exclaimed, her anger palpable as she poured her mana into the air. She needed complete focus to complete the spell she was working on, and Alex's restlessness was not helping.

But Alex wasn't one to back down easily. "I'm not asking for your permission, Maya. I'm telling you, I'm heading to the dream world," he retorted with a fierce attitude, determined to carry out his plan.

Sensing the urgency in Alex's tone, Maya took a deep breath to compose herself before responding. "I understand that you're worried about Linda and me, but if you leave now, there's nothing you can do to help us," she explained, her voice now soft and sympathetic. "Let me finish this spell, and then I'll figure out a way to save her."

"Maya," Alex implored with earnestness in his voice, "I beg you to listen to me. I'm not just speaking from a place of raw emotion. I have the strength to back up my words." As he finished his sentence, Alex lifted both of his hands in a symbolic gesture and uttered the word "Release." Suddenly, a brilliant light burst forth, illuminating the space around them. Alex's body became infused with an incredible amount of mana, imbuing him with immense power and vitality. It was a remarkable display of arcane might that left Maya in awe and admiration.

As Alex confidently strides in Linda's direction, a smirk gracing his lips, he utters the words, "Now you know why I was saying this." Meanwhile, Maya, who was initially in shock at the overwhelming mana, has now regained her composure and steps forward to halt Alex's progress. With a determined expression on her face, she asserts, "I may have been taken aback by the immense power you possess, but that does not mean I can simply let you go."

Alex maintained a stern expression as he posed the question, "What seems to be the issue?" Maya, on the other hand, looked uneasy and responded with a clear tone, "I am not interested in knowing the reasons behind your decision to not show our power, yet. However, in your current state, you may not be capable of accessing the dream world. It requires rigorous training and discipline to harness this power, something which you seem to have neglected." Maya's words were filled with a sense of concern, as she was worried about Alex's well-being and his ability to access the dream world.

Alex spoke with unwavering confidence as he declared, "I have full faith in my abilities. I will retrieve Linda from the dream world." Maya, not one to back down from a challenge, released her Mana and stated, "If you're truly up for the task, prove to me that you can bring her back safely." As she spoke, she effortlessly into a fighting position.

As Maya contemplated her next move, she reassured herself with a quiet thought, "I'll knock him out quickly and drift into the realm of dreams." However, a hint of worry crept into her mind as she considered the force of her blow, "I just hope I don't hit him too hard." With a focused gaze and steady hand, Maya prepared herself to execute her plan.

Maya swiftly throws a punch at Alex with all her might, but to her surprise, it lands in thin air as Alex disappears into the shadows. Just as she's about to turn around, Alex appears behind her, seemingly with ease. Maya's mind is racing as she tries to comprehend how Alex managed to evade her strike so effortlessly. Before she could even ask, Alex utters, "I don't want to waste any time, Maya. So let me warn you, I'm about to go all out." With a look of sheer determination on his face, Alex draws his fist back, ready to unleash a powerful blow on Maya.

Maya is taken aback by the sheer intensity of Alex's punch. She can feel the force of it in the air, and for a moment, she fears that she won't be able to withstand it. But just as quickly as it started, the punch comes to an abrupt halt, leaving Maya bewildered. "Maya, you know I could never hurt you," Alex says, his voice calm and reassuring. "But I want you to know that I'm strong enough to enter the dream world. Please, let me go to the dream world."

Maya's mind is racing as she tries to make sense of everything that's just happened. She's never seen Alex like this before, and she can't help but feel a little scared. But at the same time, she's intrigued.

With bated breath, Alex awaits Maya's decision. His heart pounds anxiously as he contemplates the possible outcomes of her choice.

Meanwhile, in the dream world, in Linda's sleep,

As Linda drifted into the dream world, a haunting voice echoed around her, "You will always be a cursed child." The cruel taunts and mocking laughter of those around her intensified, and Linda found herself caught in the middle of their vicious words. Tears streamed down her face as she pleaded with them to stop.

The taunts grew louder and more menacing as the voices continued, "You are cursed, and everyone around you will meet a tragic end. Your mother, caretaker, and even Alex's father have fallen victim to your curse, and now, you will take Alex's life." Linda felt paralyzed with fear and despair as the cruel words echoed in her mind.

"Please, save... me," young Linda pleaded, tears streaming down her face as she trembled with fear. Her voice was barely audible, but her desperation was palpable. Her heart was pounding in her chest as she looked around, searching for someone to come to her aid. The darkness seemed to press in on her from all sides, and she felt completely alone and helpless. Despite her fear, she knew she needed to keep calling out for help, hoping that someone would hear her cries and come to her rescue.
