Chapter 207: Law vs the Vice-Admiral
Research facility entrance, marine side.
"Stay back!. " Ordered Gion.
"What is that bubble?" Asked one of the marines.
"That is Trafalgar Law's ability. He can mess with anyone or anything inside his 'Room'. Stay out of the bubble and he can't do much to you." Explained the Vice-Admiral.
"Tsk…how annoying…" Law frowned.
"Why count they send someone else?"
"What about Captain Tashigi? She went inside." Asked her second in command.
"I'll go get her myself. You lot stay away from Law. This is an order. Do not engage!" She looked at her men.
"Yes Ma'am!" They all saluted with respect.
Gion walked forward and entered the bubble. Law was standing next to the door where the Strawhats had run into.
"Just tell me one thing that is true at least. Is Caesar behind all of this?" Asked Gion with an impassive gaze.
Law sighed and looked down for a moment as if he was considering it before nodding.
"I see…so, you are working with that man."
"Vice-Admiral Gion!, help me!"
Franky came out running with a panicked expression.
Gion raised an eyebrow.
"Franky the cyborg?."
"It's me, Tashigi!" Franky said in a very feminine way.
Gion looked back at Law.
"There was no record of this skill in the file. You can switch people's consciousness around?"
Law shrugged.
"I may have forgot to include it."
"I demand that you return Captain Tashigi to her own body!." She shouted.
"I don't feel like it…" Law gave her a smirk.
The air around her changed and Franky took a few steps back.
"Trafalgar Law…with my authority as Vice-Admiral Marine army, and with the power invested in me by the World Government, I remove you from your position as Shichibukai!. And under the charges of attacking a marine officer, you are under arrest!"
Law unsheathed his sword.
"Yeah…I figured it was going to end like that. But I'm afraid I cannot afford to be arrested at the moment. I have much to do, you see…"
Gion used soru to instantly appear next to Law and sent a punch to his face.
"Switch!"
Law made use of his power to trade positions with any object inside his 'operating room'.
He switched positions with a small pebble that was behind Gion.
By doing so, he was able to, not only avoid the attack but also position himself for a counterattack.
With a swift motion, Law made slashed horizontally, separating the woman in half by the waist.
"Gion!" Franky(Tashigi) shouted with shock as she still didn't truly understand how the Shichibukai's ability worked.
Law was about to turn and face Franky(Tashigi) when he felt an attack coming.
He moved aside as a blast of green liquid passed by.
"Not bad, you can use some observation haki too." Gion's body was still separated in two but her torso was floating in the air and her arm had turned into some sort of green substance.
She then fused back with her lower body and her arm returned to normal.
"That won't work with me."
"A logia?!" Law was starting to look increasingly worried now.
He lifted his sword back and attacked with a stabbing motion, aiming at her chest.
"Mes!".
"Clank!" A metallic sound could be heard
"I know this one…" Gion said while her backside hand was clutching onto Law's sword. She had used a variation of the 'tekkai' technique to tense her muscles until they became akin to metal.
She then used her other arm to punch his face, sending him flying back until he hit the wall of the laboratory, creating a big crack in it.
Gion moved again, rushing at him. She knew her oponent was not someone to be underestimated.
Law grunted in pain but quickly regained his senses.
"Switch!"
He disappeared from the spot before Gion was able to attack him again.
"Crack!" The Vice-Admiral first connected with the big rock that had taken Law's place.
She then looked around but he was nowhere to be seen and his 'room' had disappeared.
"He managed to escape…what a tricky guy."
She looked down at the sword she was still holding by the blade.
"But he forgot something."
"Gion!, Are you okay?" Franky(Tashigi)/ran to her side.
She looked at the giant cyborg.
"This is going to take some time to get used to, emm…Tashigi."
"Yeah…" Franky looked at his hands.
"Don't worry, I'll make him give you your body back. But we will need to find the Strawhats as well, especially the one who is using your body."
Gion knocked her fist against Franky's metal torso.
"And I'm sure that we will also need the owner of this body present to make the change."
Franky(Tashigi) nodded. His eyes were then drawn to the sword in Gion's hand.
"Can I see that?"
After it was handed to him, he then spent a few seconds observing it.
"Is a really good sword, almost a ranked one but not quite…"
Gion chuckled.
"I guess that your obsession with swords will not change, not matter the body."
"Vice-Admiral!"
Her men came running after the bubble disappeared.
When they saw a giant cyborg holding a sword next to their commanding officer, the men hurried to take out their weapons.
"Pirate!, Drop the weapon and surrender!" Said the old officer.
Franky(Tashigi) got startled and dropped the sword.
"Idiots!, read the mood. Does it look like I'm in danger?" Shouted Gion, making the men stop in their tracks.
She signed.
"I'll try to explain, so listen well. I don't like repeating myself." The Vice-Admiral said with annoyance in her voice.
