Chapter 163: The way out
"Over there!" Screamed Saldeath in relief at seeing a big set of reinforced doors.
"That door leads to the elevator"
Luffy brought down the steel doors with one giant fist.
They went into a room that looked like a big office.
"Each floor has a control room like this one, but this is strange…this should be heavily guarded" Saldeath looked around trying to find reinforcements.
"The Marines are not that stupid, they must have realized by now that attacking us with numbers is useless" Spoke Bon Clay.
"An ambush on the surface could be more effective" Concluded Inazuma.
"So, they are just going to let us leave?" Asked Chopper.
"Yes, to attack us later…" Answered Nami.
"Do you guys have an escape plan for when we get to the surface?" Asked Marco.
"Can't we just take another marine ship?" Said Luffy.
"That would be difficult…" I will send a message to Master Ivankov, he should be close by since we were planning on escaping before tomorrow" Said Inazuma while taking one of the den-den-mushi in the office.
"I'll also send a message to my crew. Knowing those guys, they shouldn't be too far either" Said Marco.
Afterward, they then went to the elevator and looked around.
The door was open wide, revealing a room big enough for a group of giants to travel comfortably.
"What kind of security measures has this thing?" Asked Vivi.
Saldeath looked at her in confusion.
"Security measures?"
"Yes, like a special key or requiring the fingerprint of a high-rank marine to work." Said Nami.
"Careful, there could be some explosives that detonate if we try to get in just like that" Warned Sanji.
They all took a step back and looked at the elevator with grave expressions.
"So, what it is, little guy? How do we use it?" Luffy hurried the little demon.
Saldeath still looked very confused.
"You just go in and press the button of the level you want to travel to…"
"You said before that we could not use the elevator because they were too secure!" Shouted Vivi, thinking that he must be hiding something.
"That's right!. Usually, there are like twenty armed marines and a couple of Blue Goris, if anyone tries to get in, they would get crushed! " Clarified Saldeath.
They all started at the little demon with shock.
"W-What!?" He did not understand what he said wrong.

"Vivi, stop laughing already!" Admonished Nami, although she was also smiling.
As we're most of the occupants of the elevator.
"I can't believe it...I have been trapped in here for two years..." Buggy talked to himself.
The only one who looked angry was the little demon.
"There are going some changes around here…" he murmured.
"Most secure prison in the world, Ladies and Gentlemen! We are escaping in the freaking elevator!" Vivi chuckled.
"I think the only real security measure here was the Chief Warden..." Added Inazuma.
"Argg…" Salteath looked down in embarrassment.
"Ding!" The sound signaled their arrival on the first floor.
"Be ready, we are bound to find heavy resistance from here on out" Warned Marco.
They left the elevator and found themselves in a big security office like the one at level 5. And like that one, this one was empty.
Vivi looked behind her at Morley.
"Put him down for a moment, I want to have a word."
The giant noted and put Eustass Kid on the ground.
He had not said a word since they rescued him and did not complain when Chopper dressed his wounds.
Vivi got closer to Kid and observed him. He had an absent look that made him look empty inside.
"Sigh…now what, girl?..." She told to herself.
"Slap!" The sound of her hand hitting Kid's face was heard loudly and moved slightly, but other than that, his expression did not show any change.
"Fine, I didn't have much hope in that one…"
"Vivi!, what are you doing?!" Said in horror.
"He is still very injured, don't move him too much...and don't hit him." Recommended Chopper.
She grabbed his chin and forced him to look at her.
"Okay, look. I know what happened to you and your crew stinks…or something stronger…I'm not great with words... But!, you won't make it better by sulking all day!."
Still no reaction…she had one last idea to try though.
"The guys that killed your crew are out there, Don't you want to make them pay?!" She shouted in his face.
That did get a reaction. Kid's eyes regained focus and looked at Vivi.
"Where?..."
She pointed out of the room.
"Out there! you have like a thousand marines of all ranks. Don't you wanna get out and make a mess?."
Kid stared at the door, then Vivi, and finally at the seastone cuffs.
"I'll take care of those things." Vivi placed her hand on the surface of the handcuffs and as she did with Marco's, the seastone was absorbed into her body, making the cuffs crumble into pieces.
"Now you can go wild," Vivi told the redhead pirate.
Kid stood up and walked out of the room.
"Don't get in my way! all of you!." He shouted angrily before leaving.
"Are you sure that was a good idea? That man seems a bit…" Nami made a complicated expression.
"Unstable? Yeah, he looks very crazy." Added Sanji.
"He is not crazy…just very very angry." Said Vivi.

They left the little demon, Saldeath go as promised, and made their way to the front door of the prison.
On their way out, they found no guards or maines of any kind. Other than the prisoners who still remained in their cells, the prison was empty.
"We must have quite a farewell party waiting for us outside," Said Sanji.
"Maybe I should wait inside…" Buggy told to himself. But the idea of remaining imprisoned for the rest of his life didn't seem appealing either so he decided to remain with the crew.
"We have a big fight coming up, be ready!. But remember that our first priority is to save Ace." Luffy told them.
"We'll help you the best we can." Said Inazuma.
"That's right!" Exclaimed Bon Clay. "You can count on us."
When they arrived at the front door, it was already open and fighting noises could be heard. Eustass Kid had started the battle.
