Chapter 115: Silvers Rayleigh
"Well…yeah, I gave them a call, they seemed resourceful and we needed all the help we could get to find Camie," Sanji explained.
"Oi!, flying fish guys!" Shouted Luffy.
"Ehhh?." Duval brought a hand to his ear. " Are you saying that Im handsome? But more importantly, preparations for your escape are complete, isn't that right, men?"
"Yes, beautiful Boss!" Answered his men.
"It bothered me that we will be in their debt now, but we better get out of here." Said Sanji.
"Let's go!" Shouted Luffy.
The Marines started to shoot at them using cannons..
"You want heavy fire?" Said Vivi. "Take this then, water cannon!"
Shells of water started to explode all around the battlefield.
"Ahhh!" Marines went flying.
As soon as one attack ended, she retrieved her water back and attacked again.
The rest of the crew did not stay idle either.
"Lullaby fleche" Brook used to sleeping attack.
A group of marines was trying to surround Duval.
"He is an accomplice of those pirates, shoot him!"
"Nueve fleur…twist" With a loud crunch, the men went down.
"That was so scary!" Exclaimed Duval.
Rayleigh came out while carrying an injured Hacchi and Franky was carrying Pappag.
"Hacchin, Pappag!" Yelled Camie.
"You guys go ahead, we have opened a path for you to pass. You too, Sanji. You need to take Camie away." Said Vivi.
"Got it" Said the old man with a calm expression.
"Hurry up you too!" Usopp yelled to Luffy and Brook, who were the ones further away.
"Don't let the Strawhats getaway, they are the main culprits.!" Yelled the Marines.
"Thunderbolt…tempo!" Lighting struck the marines who were chasing them.

Thanks to the flying riders, they managed to lose the marines and arrived back at Shakkis bar.
Once there, Hacchi and Camie received medical attention from Chopper and were left to rest.
"Wait, those this mean that you were on the crew of the Pirate King?" Asked Luffy with shock.
"I was the first mate, Silvers Rayleigh, nice to meet ya." Said Rayleigh to Luffy.
"I guess, Hacchi didn't tell you, huh?." Said Shakkis.
"First mate!?" The crew exclaimed in shock.
"He referred to him as Shakkis Rayleigh, the first time he mentioned his name." Vivi pointed out. "Not that I think there are many people with that name out there."
"So, you knew?" Asked Robin to Vivi.
"It was nothing more than a suspicion." Vivi brushed off the question.
"I read about you in books!" Said Usopp.
"I definitely heard about him a few times," Said Sanji.
"Gold Roger, huh?. I think I heard about some rookie with that name back then" Said Brook.
"How can that octopus be on friendly terms with a big shot like you?" asked Zoro with no tact at all.
"It was 20 years ago. I was shipwrecked in the sea, Hacchi found me and save me, even though he was a kid back then." Explained Rayleigh.
"Since then, up until he joined the Sun Pirates, we got to be good friends."
"Don't you mean, Arlong?" Asked Luffy.
"Still…Gold Roger was executed 22 years ago. How come you are still here?. I thought that the Marines must have captured the entire crew." Said Sanji.
"Roger was never captured." Said, Rayleigh. "He turned himself in. But the government announced it as they had captured him as a show of power."
"The Pirate King gave himself up?" Exclaimed Nami.
"Why the hell would he do that?" Said Franky.
"Because we saw the end of our journey." Rayleigh started. "Four years before the day he was executed. Roger came with an incurable disease. No one could do anything about it and even the mighty Roger suffered from it. "
"At that time, we meet a doctor who worked in the tallest lighthouse of all oceans. Crocus of the Twin Capes was the only one who could ease the pain that Roger was feeling. We asked him to accompany us during our last voyage."
"Crocus…that name is familiar." Said Zoro.
"After three years, while holding back Rogers disease, we were able to accomplish the impossible and we conquered the Grand Line."
"Wait, Crocus!, I know that name" Said Brook.
"That old dude who was taking care of the whale?. I thought he had been at the lighthouse for 50 years. He actually became part of the Pirate King crew for 3 years?" Said Usopp.
"Come to think of it. He did say that he had been a ship doctor for a few years." Remembered Nami.
Rayleigh smiled. "Since he was able to meet you guys, it means he hasn't kicked the bucket yet…I'm glad to hear that. He was always fond of whales back then. He also mentioned that he was looking for a particular crew of pirates."
"Brook!. That matches what he told us about wanting to find you guys" Said Usopp.
"To think that he would go that far for us and Laboon…" Said Brook.
"Even if he was only with us during our last 3 years, we all considered him a true crewmate. I would like to see him again." Commented Rayleigh.
"So…what happened after you conquered the oceans?" Asked Sanji.
"That was when Roger became known as the Pirate King. It wasn't just that he was called that…for a man who is about to die, titles are meaningless…but Roger was happy about it. He was a man who enjoyed doing everything with flair and pomp, it was the same for partying and fighting. He truly enjoyed it."
"In the end, at his orders, the Jolly Roger pirates were disbanded, and they disappeared. No one knows where those men are or what are they doing right now. But one year after that, Roger turned himself in."
"The marines executed him in the place where he was born, Logue Town. I couldn't bring myself to go…his last words to me were "I aint going to die, partner"."
"And he was right." Said Vivi, turning the attention from Rayleigh to her. "The World government probably wanted to make an example of him and end the era of pirates. But they must have been so disappointed. Roger started a new era, bigger than the one before and his name will live forever as the first Pirate King."
