Kapitel 8: Ready for the deal

A month prior to the events of the outing, Cameron and the doc resumed work on the removal of the Omnitrix. The doctor seemed way more tensed than before, actually ever since Cameron returned from the outing the doctor has been tense. In usual notice he would take his time trying to remove the watch, but now he seemed to be rushing.

Usually he would take about a week or so to develop a device that will remove the Omnitrix, but now he takes about two days and fails to fix the flaws the machine has even the most visible ones.

The early wake ups and the constant pain from the doctors failing machines were tiring and stressful for the boy.

➜Middleton Middle School

"Lastly the outing is finished. And that means the NeRd Olympics will be starting and again I have to say how I am so happy for this grade. You guys have honestly been the most smartest batch of students in this schools history."

"I try mam, I try." Maddie complemented herself. "I wake up everyday against my will to come to school and be smarter than everyone. It's hard work."

"Madeline you- whatever. Speaking of the topic of the NeRd Olympics what other fun activities are you guys excited for when we arrive at the Olympics."

"Mam! I heard that we were booked hotels for free!"

"Oh yes that is true. The state has provided us all with our own hotel rooms, sure your gonna have to room with someone, but it's not hell."

"Who will be rooming with the headmaster?" Maddie raised a question.

"Not me that's for sure."

"Miss, if I roomed with her I would instantaneously run and drown myself in the pool. I know she is gonna wanna talk about my grades."

Their homeroom teacher snickered, "Do you guys seriously think the headmaster is that cruel?"

All the students in the class moved forward and started speaking out their gossip about the headmaster. Cameron was once again not participating, his head was facing the front, but his eyes were closed.

A paper was thrown from at his head, waking him up with a fright. He picked up and opened the paper.

You alright?

Cameron looked around for whoever threw the note, but nobody seemed to have been a victim. They were all either talking to one another or talking to their homeroom teacher.

After hours of chatter the bell rung signifying home time. Cameron rose from his seat and was the first to approach the door to leave. Their homeroom teacher caught sight of him about to leave and called him out.

"I hope you will actually attend this time. Last time we had something like this, you refused to come rather you didn't tell us you weren't coming and I'm sure you remembered what happened next right?"

"How could I? I wasn't there." Cameron walked out the class.

Their homeroom teacher turned to Maddie who had been watching the whole time. "That boy has such an attitude!"

Maddie picked up her back and placed it on her back, "Before you judge maybe you should take the time to see if everything is okay." She walked out the class.

➜Lenardo Residential

Cameron arrived home and entered the living room, where his mother currently resided. He placed his bag down and turned to her with a serious expression.

"Mom. May I go to the NeRd Olympics with my school please?"

His mother stared at him for a second. "You. Want to go to something called the NeRd Olympics?"

Cameron nodded.

"...sure..."

"I- oh that was easier than expected." Cameron took his bag and started walking to the stairs.

"Oh and say hi to Ruby when your there alright dear?"

The boy paused. "How did you?"

"Why else would you go to something called the NeRd Olympics."

"Hey, I like nerdy stuff."

"Nerdy people wouldn't refer to it as Nerdy stuff or refer to themselves as nerds."

"Ruby calls the stuff nerdy."

"Is she a nerd? Real question is, do you think she is a nerd?"

The dark skinned boy groaned and walked to the next room.

"Got him." Mrs Len giggled.

➜Middleton Town

A white opal pulled up to a purple house with a freshly cut patch of grass. The man rushed out of the car, and headed into the house.

"Where is he?!"

A women with brown hair grabbed Gordon by the arm and dragged him to the bathroom where he heard screaming and punching.

"Not again. His sister isn't here right?"

"No. But she'll be back any moment now, school just came out."

"We can't let her see him like this."

Gordon opened the bathroom door and his son turned to him grabbing his head with tears. "It was all for nothing! Nothing! I worked hard... What's the point huh? What's the point!"

"Hey kiddo relax. It wasn't all for nothing, I know you went through hell studying so you could get the trophy, but don't-"

"It was torture! It was hells hell! And I failed! I failed! What's the point of living anymore! What's the point! I can't show myself at school or anywhere anymore... I was- I was in over my head... I left my friends for nothing! Nothing!"

The boy pulled out a knife from his back pocket. "What's the point. I can't handle this pain anymore, I'm not happy... I'm nothing!... I'm worthless! I failed this family... I failed everyone!"

Before his son could stab himself Gordon tackled the boy down coursing his sons head to hit the ground hard knocking him out in an instant. Gordon rolled off his son with tears running down his face.

➜Hospital

The doctor appeared. "He's okay, he only suffered a small concussion, besides that and the depression he's okay. You may go check up on him."

"Thank you doctor." Gordon's wife got up and ran to the door.

Gordon sat still with his head facing the ground. He couldn't visit his son, he didn't want to visit his son and this wasn't because he knocked him out rather it was because he was use to do doing it. As much as he and his family tried to ignore it they all knew he had problems and worst of all this wasn't a birth thing it was a recent thing.. And it was all because of one thing...

➜[Unknown Location]

"So are you finally ready to make a deal?"

Gordon looked up at the dark abase. "Yes."
