Grayson can't tear his eyes away from the hulking form of the bear in front of them. Jude's hand is on his shoulder, gripping it tightly.
"Listen to me, we're going to be fine, we just need to—" He starts in a low and slow voice.
Grayson's ears start ringing and he can't make out anything else.
"I can't do this." Grayson's voice is panicked and loud. The bear reacts to the sound of it and singles in on Grayson. "Oh god, we're going to die here. Here?"
He can't feel Jude at all anymore; his body paralyzed and cold. He feels his eyes fill with tears, bitterness radiating from his voice.
Grayson looks the bear straight in its eyes, resigned to his fate. He wishes, for a moment, that he could gauge what emotion was rippling through it's being.
He could only assume it was close to what he was feeling: fear and anger. They were the ones intruding. Grayson didn't belong here and the bear knew it.
