Kapitel 15: Chapter 15: Prisoner

Lights danced outside Brynn’s eyelids - soft hues flitting this way and that like fireflies. She was warm. Not just the heat inside her - that heat was still there, somehow - but outwardly as well. A soft, pleasant warmth soaked into her skin. Something caressed her body, soft and supple. She sighed as she stirred against the silky fur, and then she froze.

Fur.

The wolf.

With a shriek, her eyes flew open as she scrambled away from the fur wrapped around her body. The light hit her corneas like tiny blades, and she had to squint against it. Panic coursed through her as she searched wildly for the wolf.

What was this?

Why was its fur here?

She kicked it further away from her.

Except it couldn’t be the wolf. This fur was chestnut brown. And it didn’t belong to any creature - any living creature, at least. It was just a blanket. A soft, fur blanket. She tried to calm herself, but the unfamiliarity of her surroundings kept the panic alive.
