Kapitel 11: Chapter 7.5: For Peace
Somewhere in the hidden leaf, two young men were seating in front of a campfire across from a girl with white hair, and these two didn't know how to feel about this girl, as she was talking to them.
"So my plan is essentially to use you to take control of the Uchiha, but it doesn't stop there. I'll be brewing a few other things meanwhile. I know that you already had the intention of taking over the Uchiha with your powers, and now you're going to do it for me or watch it all fall apart." Lalika was casual in her way of speaking and didn't seem to be threatening them in her tone, but her words made things quite obvious.
"So, you're just doing the same... So much for a perfect future..." Shisui commented.
"Oh don't worry, we'll get to that, but one step at a time. If it was that easy, don't you think someone would have done it already?" Lalika posed a question.
"Yeah... You're not wrong." Shisui accepted.
"Anywho, you two should be careful with your behavior, cause if things get out of hand, it won't be pretty." Lalika said before just disappearing into the air, another show of intimidation as they both realized that once again, they were still under one of her genjutsus.
"Shisui... Do you actually plan to follow that girl?" Itachi inquired.
"Of course not, that girl is very dangerous to the hidden leaf and we still don't have any ideas about the extent of her abilities. She has very powerful genjutsu that even with our Sharingan it won't be easy to break, and she seems to know a lot about the village, much more than even the princess of a fallen or even a major clan should know, meaning she might have spies under her genjutsu... At this point, it's hard to know who we can trust, but I'm sure that if we get this information to Lord Third, he'll be able to work around it, as she herself revealed that she can't affect him with her powers." Shisui concluded as he responded to Itachi.
"How are we sure she doesn't have a plan for that? She seemed confident in leaving us with our conciseness." Itachi pointed out.
"She has no choice but to leave us this way, if we came back under genjutsu sooner or later someone would notice and free us. She's just trying to scare us into believing she has everything under control, but that's not the case, it's just another illusion." Shisui retorted.
"Hm… I see. Even still, what can be done to her? She's not only a clan princess, she's a clan princess of a clan with a powerful bloodline… even more so than ours… and one of three remaining survivors. Her current actions don't dictate treason, as much as her words, and we don't exactly have proof of anything. If push comes to shove, it would be our word against hers and even if we consider our contributions, the fact that her genjustu is so powerful means she awakened her powers, making her too valuable to compare to us. In the end, it's more likely the elders will side with her even if Lord Third believes us. So I think it won't be fruitful to expose her yet." Itachi reflected on the whole situation before coming to a conclusion.
"That's a most likely correct assessment, but you can't just work in the shadows without authority. That's why we need to talk to Lord Third. Even if we can't fully prove everything, we can definitely initiate an investigation and slowly let her believe she's winning only to reveal the truth and catch her at the end." Shisui rebutted.
"I want to believe that, but I still feel it might be a bit dangerous…" Itachi was hesitant.
"Itachi… Hidden leaf, is our village, our home. If we don't all work to maintain the peace that exists here, it will eventually fall to war and chaos, much more so in the current climate, which just recovered from the last war… Individuals like that Lalika girl, they don't care for the consequences their actions have to the greater picture, and the people, but the people, they are weak… that's why, we who call ourselves ninja need to fight for them, and make the hard decisions, for a real better future." Shisui expressed.
"You're right… if we want to maintain peace, certain sacrifices and risk will come eventually." Itachi agreed.
Having decided how to move, Itachi and Shisui immediately went to the Hokage's office something that as Anbu, was not hard for them to do.
"Lord Third, we have report to make, but if possible could we do so in a more private environment." Shisui talked as Itachi stood behind him.
"… understood, let us go to private meeting room. We won't be interrupted there." Hiruzen responded, and then began to guide the young men there, and looked them waiting for them to speak, once they got there. "You don't have to worry, no one can hear us here."
"Lord Third, we are here, because something… unexpected happened. Is Lord Third familiar with the princess of the Kurama clan, Lalika Kurama?" Shisui asked.
"Yes… I meet the young lady once. She had a pretty clear mind and was very collected through everything and I was honestly surprised, but strong emotions can result in numbness more often than one would realize. Anyway, what is it that happened to her? Did her Ido awaken?" Hiruzen was calm and talked rather slowly maybe out of habit or just due to his age, even still it game a certain calming aura.
"That… is very possible, actually… Her Ido might've already taken control of her body. She not only came to us with crucial information about the Uchiha Rebellion case, but she also demonstrated genjutsu prowess, on a level I've never seen before. It felt like we were dreaming to face her. Though we currently have no understanding of any of her other possible abilities, she seemed very confident in her own safety throughout our interaction." Shisui explained.
"... How unfortunate... Another young soul lost to this world... No, we have yet to confirm that, the will of fire is not so easily extinguished. You are authorized to form a team, and investigate the situation. Worry not, I myself will keep an eye on things. You have full authority to interrogate her with the help of the Hyuga and any Genjutsu specialist available at your discretion. I wish I could let you take her to the Yamanaka intelligence center or apprehend her, but it's not adequate to do so without proof. Now go." Hiruzen ordered.
""Yes, Lord Third!"" Both the Uchiha accepted their mission before leaving.
"All this as a result of your disregard for human life... Where the I go wrong with you?.... Tell me, Orochimaru, how could I have stopped your descent into madness?... I suppose somethings are just beyond us. Even so, at the end of the day, I'm a Hokage and as such, peace in the hidden leaf is all I can hope and strive for, that's why I hope you are still there, young Lalika." Hiruzen now alone went back to smoking.
