Immediately after he left, her father let go of her. Kate couldn't tell when her knees fell to the ground and buried her face in the cool floor.
"What has come over you, Kate? Why are you too blind to see what I'm seeing? Huh?" her father scolded her as he glared at her.
"But I love him, father! Are you too blind to see that?" Kate retorted with annoyance as she stared back at her father, who was pointing his index finger at her.
"Ohh… I see," the old man chuckled. " I now know why they say, "love is blind" since you fail to see that Romeo is just a poor dude who won't be able to provide for your needs after marriage."
Upon hearing that, Kate stood up from the cool floor. She covered the space between her and her father and announced to him," Well, Romeo might be poor, but I'm not poor. Keep in mind that you are my father, and I'm certain that you wouldn't want to see me die because of hunger because you're a rich man."
