Kapitel 35: A jerk!

It was the middle of the night when May tried turning in bed. There was something in her way, making her breathe with difficulty. She wished to lean on the side, to be more comfortable.

However, she couldn't. And the very reason was that grip around her waist.

She woke up all of a sudden, realising someone was in the same bed as her. What had happened? She tried recollecting the events, but it was difficult.

She remembered reaching the Pearl Palace, talking with Chris... But then? Oh, one thing was sure: the man next to her must have been him. At least, she was safe.

She tried moving his hand away, hoping to sneak out of bed but failing miserably. No matter how hard she clutched his fingers or hand, they wouldn't move. And she had to be careful not to wake him if she wanted to be sneaky!

«Don't move,» she heard right on her neck. It was a low, sleepy whisper. Chris had woken up, apparently. «It's your fault if we're in this situation. Let me sleep.»
