10% DXD: The Game of Dragons / Chapter 1: Countdown

Kapitel 1: Countdown

After reading fanfic about Issei being cucked by a random guy, I felt the need to write this fanfic. I felt the author destroyed all the ORC members' personalities and basic common sense. So I thought of writing my own fanfic with a twist and turns. This fanfic will mostly be soft smut, with some element of wish fulfillment. This will not be my main project, as I have Naruto, Harry Potter, and ATG fanfic already being written on the side.

This fanfic will be a side project. I am neither asking for payment nor getting paid for this, so keep your toxicity and shove it up your ass.

Don't like the plot or characters? Don't read it. But I am always willing to listen to constructive criticism :)

Warning: There will be dark elements present in this fanfic, like manipulation, degeneracy, and humiliation. But no NTR(Cuckold) towards the MC or women sharing in this fanfic.

"It hurts, doesn't it, Kai."

His dark, gloomy eyes were staring at the group of females, chuckling to themselves with carefree smiles on their faces while echoes of giggling resounded in his ear. But his gaze seemed to have been drawn to an innocent hazel-eyed girl wearing a purple scarf and sitting next to a handsome boy with a sweet smile on his face.

"Yes, it certainly hurts." A murmur escaped from his mouth, causing those around him to quietly laugh and whisper to themselves. He can clearly see that they are mocking him, especially in his current state. Clothes that appeared too simple, hair that appeared unkempt, baggy clothes that obscured his body, and a face that was easily forgotten. He has no real friends, and the one childhood friend he seems to cherish is crushing on the pretty boy and pushing him aside.

"What's the matter?" The sudden voice next to him jolted him out of his reverie. Turning to his right, he noticed the newly transferred girl, who looked at him with concern.

"Are you in pain? Is there anything I can do about it?" Her voice was soft, and she appeared to be concerned about him.

"Nope." He responded curtly. His voice was flat, almost mechanical. She smiled but didn't say anything else. He averted his gaze, unable to meet hers.

"Are you sure? I can take you to the nurse."

"No, thank you," Kaida said. Going to the nurse is pointless because this is not physical pain; it is emotional pain. Seeing his childhood crush conversing with the attractive boy gave him heartburn.

That's what they call love, isn't it? It hurts when someone who used to be your friend or crush suddenly starts liking another person. But there is nothing he can do.

"Umu. I am sorry for bothering you."

He briefly considered whether this was an act. How could this girl be so pure and gentle? The transferred girl had been sitting next to him all day, and he hadn't seen her irritated once.

'She can do what she wants; I always prioritize her happiness,' he sighed, returning his attention to his childhood friend. 'But why is she behaving this way? Does she not remember how my mother shielded her from an abusive mother? Or me, who had previously protected her bullies because of her shy personality.'

Growing up in an abusive household, his friend developed a timid and shy personality. With trauma and her stunning appearance, she was an easy target. But Kaida didn't give up; seeing the state of his childhood friend, he had taken it upon himself to work every minute to break her out of the shell she had created. How could he have imagined that when High School began, with no shy personality, the girl attracted boys like moths and blossomed into a school flower?

Kaida shook his head as the school bell rang. He pushed through the crowd, grabbing his bag and plugging his headphones back in.

"Kaida!"

He ignores the call of his childhood friend, who, while ignoring him in school for clout, couldn't stop herself from being dependent on him after school.

"Ha, ha, ha, ha... Why didn't you just wait? I was looking for you." She rushed to his front, puffing her cheeks as she looked into his gloomy eyes.

"I'm sorry, I couldn't hear you through the earphones." He gave her his usual excuse and showed her a fake smile, which seemed to calm the pouty girl.

Returning his attention to his phone, he quickly began ignoring her constant chattering, and she always carried her displeasure towards other girls, complaining as usual.

"I'll see you later, Kai-kun. I won't be coming for dinner; I'll be staying at a friend's house tonight, and he'll pick me up."

He was able to hide the pain on his face by turning away from her. He had heartburn, which caused him to clutch his chest tightly, and as his trembling lips parted, he said, "I s-see... Itami, I hope you have a wonderful time."

He couldn't possibly tell her what to do. She could do whatever she wanted with no parents and a guardian on her tail. Even if he says otherwise, it will only lead to another argument about how 'controlling' he is.

'This is her life; she will learn what it means to have her heart broken.' He didn't say anything because he knew what kind of person her friend was. Oh, he told her numerous times what kind of people those people can be, but each time she slapped him or yelled at him for being too jealous.

"Oh... Can I bring my friend to your home tomorrow?"

Without responding to her, he slammed the door behind him, leaving him alone in the house, and eventually crashed down, pain streaming down his face. He loved her and had shown it numerous times, as well as told her, but she always laughed and ignored him.

His hands were trembling, so he tried to relax by rubbing his fingers together, hoping to relieve the tension that was building inside him. But his efforts were in vain; he felt as if someone was strangling his lungs and forcing them to take in more air than they should.

He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, attempting to relax. With a deep breath, he stabbed himself in the thigh with a beautiful silver nail that appeared on his hand.

There was no blood splattering, and the nail appeared to have dissolved in his body. The previous panic attack faded away, and his thoughts returned to their last conversation when she told him about the guy she was after. He couldn't figure out why she didn't pick him.

Despite everything they had been through, she chose another man. Why? Why does she prefer a random stranger to him? Worse, she now ignores him because he isn't as popular as her crush. What if something similar occurs again? Perhaps it was because she saw him as nothing more than a friend.

His heart ached; he could feel it pounding in his chest, he tried to calm himself down, but his heart refused to stop racing. He wanted to cry because he felt rejected and unwanted. It hurt so much that he wanted to scream and hit something, anything, to relieve the pain.

"I'm not good for you." A recollection of their conversation rang in his ear. "I want to be free of my past. I'd like to have my own life and try new things."

'Why do I have to live with such agony? I should be happy with her, but instead, I'm living in misery. I know I deserve better. But what keeps me here? Why is this part of my mind telling me she loves me?'

"There are plenty of fishes in the ocean." His father's words rang out in his ear. But no matter how hard he tried, it was difficult to forget your first love and the person you had spent your entire life with, especially when he saw her every day.

He crashed on the bed after tossing the bag aside. Despite the fact that his mind was a complete mess, his attention was drawn to the clock in the corner of his vision.

[00:03:23]

"Only three more minutes... Then what? I have no clue what to do next."

It is crystal clear that Kaida is not insane, but a reincarnate. He could only get used to his new life with loving parents because he had almost no memories of his previous life.

However, their deaths had a profound effect on his psyche, turning him anti-social and severing all ties with others. He had a following of people around him because he was exceptionally "smart," but after this countdown appeared and his parents died, he became a loner.

He turned on his phone, crackling his finger, and murmured, "Humm... The website traffic is adequate. The number of daily buyers, on the other hand, appears to have dropped by 5%."

Aside from his name, friends, and parents, he remembered how he lived his life. It was strange that he could remember how he got his PC and then forget about the people he paid for those games.

The first thing he did to obtain a phone was to begin researching ways to earn money. He wasn't a multimillionaire with vast business knowledge and a track record of stock pricing. So all he could do was use the time he'd previously squandered reading light novels and watching anime to plagiarize them here.

"Writing Harry Potter was an excellent idea." It was amusing how not a single, SINGLE thing from his life matched. Marvel films, Game of Thrones television shows, and Naruto anime were all absent. Even the cursed anime Boku No.... wasn't present!

He was well-versed in the plot, having written multiple Harry Potter fanfictions in his previous life. The only assistance he required was the hiring of an expensive editor, but it was well worth it.

"Perhaps I should publish the fourth book?" He messaged his agent for a quick meeting after some thought.

[THE COUNTDOWN IS OVER!!!]

Kaida jerked up immediately when he heard the massive alarms, causing him to sit up straight, waiting patiently for what was about to happen.

'Now I have to pick a game... Would I get a system or some powers as a result of that?'

"I'm not very good at making such decisions." He finally made his decision after much deliberation. Given that he has no idea what world he has reincarnated in, it is best to choose something powerful. And, seeing the [REFRESH] option, he was confident that he would be able to choose again in the near future.

"I choose..."
