"She slept with another man, and when I found out, I was angry with her. I started hating her even though I didn't. I thought I did, and when she gave birth to you, I wasn't happy. Every time… I saw you, I was reminded of what she did, and it infuriated me. I couldn't find it in my heart to forgive her until the day she died. I was only able to do so recently."

"But do I even have the right to say I forgave her? It was my fault, and maybe if I had been a better man and a better husband, she wouldn't have hurt me, and neither would I have lost her. I hurt her first, and she hurt me back, yet I had the audacity to be mad."

"Maybe she would still be with me now, and we would be a happy family. She understood me better than anyone, but I never understood her. When I die, I would love to meet her and properly apologize to her for everything that I did. For not treating her right, I will apologize for it all." Lucius softly smiled.
