"Asking you to quit being my caregiver is the last thing I would do. So, please never assume that, okay?" He asked with a half smile on his face, but Everly, who wasn't done yet, folded her arms with doubt in her eyes.
"Then why don't you let me do my work like I used to?" She inquired.
"Ehh…" Valerio blinked his eyes and got up from the chair.
He turned around to face her and grabbed hold of her shoulders. "Everly, that is because you are hurt. I don't want you to stress over something that I can clearly do on my own." He smiled at her as he said, even though that wasn't his real reason.
"But I am fine now. Besides, it's my job; you do not have to worry about me." Everly scrunched her face in displeasure as she corrected, but Valerio, however, chuckled and playfully ruffled her hair with his hands.
"Take it as me caring for you." He winked at her, and almost immediately, Everly grabbed her nose as her eyes widened in shock.
