Kapitel 37: Stay Still!

Layana looked at herself in the mirror and took a long, deep breath.

She adjusted her dress and turned around to look at Sheitan, who was lying on the sofa with his eyes gazing at her.

"Are you really not coming with me?" She asked.

Sheitan sat up on the couch and exhaled.

"Well, I don't like places like that. Those people are quite annoying. I found that out during my exploring." He replied with a grimace on his face, and Layana found herself chuckling.

"Well, wait for me then, okay." She smiled as she walked toward him.

She leaned down and placed a soft kiss on his lips.

Sheitan pulled her into a hug and caressed her hair. "I will be waiting for you." He smiled so tenderly at her, and she nodded.

She strolled to the door and looked at him one more time before making her way out.

She proceeded downstairs, and together with Ileus, who was already waiting for her downstairs, they walked outside and boarded the car.

"Are you nervous?" Ileus suddenly asked, seeing the worried look on her face.

She turned to look at him and shook her head. "No…I am not." She replied.

Ileus smiled cynically at her, and knowing that she was definitely thinking of something that had her having such a sad look on her face, a deep sigh exited his nose.

________

Within the huge mansion, inside Valerio's room:

Everly adjusted his tie and drew her head back to see if it was finally in the perfect position.

"Hmm... still needs some fixing." She shook her head and began to reknot the tie again.

Valerio, who was heavily peeved by the fact that she has done this tons of times just in the name of making it perfect, gritted his teeth at her.

"Give me that! Let me do it by myself." He tried to snatch the tie from her, but Everly kicked him in the knee.

"Say still!" She glared at him and quite appalled, Valerio rapidly blinked his eyes at her.

"You!-"

"PERFECT!" Everly interrupted him before he could finish his sentence, taking a few steps back to look at him.

"Ten over ten. You look perfect and very beautiful! Chef kiss!" She squealed, heavily admiring his look, especially the fact that he finally agreed to let his hair down today. "See, I told you that you would look better with your hair let down than in a bun. You need to look different. Give a new impression."

She clicked her tongue at him and turned to leave. "Let me go and dress up, okay?" She said to him and walked out of the room.

She returned to her room and shut the door behind her.

On her bed, lay the dark green dress, the heels, and the jewelry she would wear.

A huge smile formed on her face, and she slipped out of the shower robe she was wearing.

She moisturized her skin and grabbed a hold of the dress.

She slid into it, zipped the side up, and turned to look at herself in the mirror.

"Perfect fit!" She giggled sweetly and adjusted the dress to feel comfortable in it.

She gave her hair a very fine brushing and applied a little bit of makeup.

She rubbed her lipstick and smacked her lips once she added the lip gloss.

She looked at herself in the mirror again and couldn't help but admire herself.

"Damn, I look good!" She expressed as though she had no idea she was that beautiful.

Her slender feet slipped into the heels, and with the small purse she had in hand, she sprayed herself with perfume and clasped the silver necklace around her neck, and bangle around her wrist.

However, almost instantly, she experienced a heavy burn that made her scream in pain.

"Ouch! Oh my god!" She exclaimed and quickly took them off.

"What the fuck!" Her chest rose and fell in confusion, and she quickly stepped out of the room.

She hurried towards Valerio's room and walked in to see him seated with his legs crossed and his head lowered.

"Are you done yet?" He asked in a neutral voice.

"No. Something bad just happened." She fiddled with her fingers, unable to comprehend what had occurred.

"Huh? What happened?"

"Well, I tried to wear the necklace I got, but... it kind of hurt me." She explained.

"What?" Confused, Valerio quickly turned his head to look at her. "What do you mean?"

"I don't know. I just wore it, and it kind of hurt. It burns. I guess my skin is sensitive to it." She clarified, and Valerio arched his brow at her.

"That is very weird." He commented and stood up from the sofa.

He walked toward one of his drawers and grabbed a box.

He handed it over to her and took a deep breath.

"Wear that one then."

Everly opened the box to see the gold necklace, earrings, and bangle inside of it. "Uh-"

"Just wear it, Everly." Valerio waved his hand at her before she could even utter a word, and having no other choice, she nodded and covered the barely visible burn mark with makeup.

She wore the jewelry once she was done, and surprisingly, it didn't burn.

"Let's go." She interlocked her hand with Valerio's, and they began to make their way downstairs,

"I bet you look really beautiful, and oh, you smell really good too." Valerio abruptly complimented her, and Everly's face flushed pink.

"T-thank you." She replied in a soft voice, and they boarded the car, which was driven by Alex.
