Kapitel 20: Teaching A Lesson

"What is happening here?" the voice of their father stunned Jane who was still standing in the exploded room.

Her hands still have the remains of the strong magic she had used, so she could not even refuse it.

"Father! I.. I can explain." her dilated pupils and her sweat covered face was proof of her actions.

"Didn't I say that no one would torment Althea?" he just tilted his head and stared at her but that was enough to scare the shit out of the girl who took a step back with fear.

"But father… she refused to help me and insulted me." she retorted but his father only narrowed his eyes at her making her cower with fear.

"That's enough! Jane!! Go to your room, you are grounded and so are your powers. You can not use them for the next whole week." her eyes widened as she looked at her hands that suddenly felt lifeless.

His father had a special power. He can suck the powers of any witch around them. She was powerless now.

"But…" when her eyes met the eyes of her father she bowed her head with fear and left the room with tears in her eyes.

Her father kept staring at her leaving figure with a sigh but then turned to look at Althea, he was stunned.

She was staring back into his eyes with a cold glance that was hard with his strong aura. Except the royal family no one had the power to do that.

There was even a mockery filled in those cold eyes as if she knew it was all an act.

He coughed and looked away.

"You should not mind your sisters too much. They are stronger to you, they might protect you when needed. Without your lack of magic, you never know when you will need your family." His voice was warm but she could understand the meaning behind him so she only laughed.

"You do not need to worry about me, my lord. But you should go and explain to the duchess why her daughter is crying." she laughed as if she had cracked the joke before closing her book and then tuning to the other side.

"You should learn how to talk to your father. This is not the way to address me." he warned but she did not pay him attention anymore. For her, he was nothing but a fool who had tormented her. Even now, he was only here because he was worried about the image of the house.

It had nothing to do with his worries for her.

"Yes, i understand, my lord.'' She cut him off with a casual response and went to read the book again on her table when he gritted his teeth and left the room with heavy steps.

Once the room was empty again, Thea stood up and walked to her balcony. She stared at the balcony next to hers.

It belongs to Jane's. But both had a fair distance. No one except the magic of air or ability to fly would be able to jump.

But her power to decrease the space, what if it worked in the air too?

With her eyes glimmering, she climbed on her railings and then jumped in the air without any hesitation.

She held the railings of her balcony with a chuckle as if she was sure that it was going to happen.

"Ha! That is the reason I loved these kinds of worlds." there was nothing impossible in them.

If it would have been real world, even with her years of training, she would have fallen down and broken her bones.

She sat on the railing for a second and then leaned on the door to hear the voices.

"Leave me alone, I do not want to talk about it." she could hear Jane shouting at her maids and smirked.

Soon the door was opened and closed after a few seconds. Once she was sure that the room was empty, she entered the room, surprising the girl on the bed.

She turned to scold the maids as the voice but was shocked to see Thea standing there. Her eyes narrowed viciously.

"What are you doing here?" she asked with a glare as she stood up ready to attack only to realize that she had lost her magic.

Thea raised a brow with a look of arrogance.

"Why? Do you not want to attack me further, sister? Or have you realized that you can not win against me?" her face was once again mocking her, bringing her to the edge.

"You! This is all because of you, witch!" she screamed as she lunged on Thea. So what if she did have powers, she was still strong and was sure that she could deal with Thea easily.

But she had never expected when she would attack Thea, she would be holding a dagger ready to slit her wrist.

"You bitch! What did you do?"
